What a College Intern - New Product Introduction Engineering (NPI IT Control Systems) does at HP:

• Assistvendors setup of facility and GRE for proto setup

• Assistand support vendor for machinery landing

• Assist vendor and engineers in machinery /tooling install, assembly system debugging and commission

• Hands on work with suppliers to develop mechanical fixtures/jigs design, tooling modification/customization, installand test

• Develop tooling modification/customization, mechanical design improvements

• Assist NPI Engineers with process characterization, gage R&R and NPI experiments

• Assist NPI Engineers to buyoff FAT/ SAT

• Periodic maintenance and calibration of online and offline tooling/gages

• Audit tooling maintenance and calibration

• Operate and hands on machinery for proto build runs

• Engage and assistNPI Engineers on experimental builds, innovate and engineer new processes, new manufacturingtechnologies

• Spare management

• Maintain a master list containingOS version info, Anti virusversion, IP, Backup and etc of all PCs deployed in proto environment

• Knowledge on Backup and Storage systems in order toPerform regular backup jobs, verify backup integrity and data recovery on various platform such as Windows OS, PLC systems, leak testers, Vision Systemsand offline test equipment.

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:

• Current Bachelor or Masters undergraduate pursuing Electrical/Software Engineering or Computer Science

• Able to commit for a 5-6 months full time internship starting in January 2027

• Ability to apply engineering fundamentals & concepts

• Failure Analysis and characterization

• Data Analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC)

• Design components/subsystems using CAD

• Integrate new designsinto existing processes

• Ability to generate test plans, provide short-loop test methods and tools to allow risk assessment

• Teamwork and ability to collaborate and communicate ideas is highly valued

• Growth mindset

• Possess knowledge in using operating systems such as MS Windows/Office environment

• Knowledge on Backup and Storage systems

• Competent in a factory automation environment ie. able to debug and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) as well as other factory automation hardware/software such as digital input output, sensors and switches,motion control

• Proficiency in Allen Bradley PLC ladder programming knowledge

• Basic experience in configuring of IT network infrastructure to support the daily operation. Some understanding of networking basics of TCP/IP such as configuring IP addresses, ping commands, etc. Ability to configure new switches, identifyfaulty network componentsuch as network card, cable, network port, switches.

• Basic understanding on security configuration.

• Basic understanding of Anti Virusworking mechanism with ability to install/manage Anti Virusdeployment.

• Machine vision software and hardware (bonus). Able to read and understand AC/DC schematics will be an added advantage (bonus).

• Knowledge on Python programming, C#, VB.net will be added advantage (bonus)
