Let's go far, together.\nHear directly from our employees, and leaders about their unique journeys at Helmerich and Payne.\nLocation: Tulsa Office\nWork Type: Onsite\n#LI-Onsite - Tulsa, OK\nAt a Glance:\nAn Electrical Engineer, Senior is responsible for work including, but not limited to, general electrical, power, cable/wiring management, sensors, wiring devices, control system implementation, motors/drives, API/NEC/NFPA/IEEE and other similar regulatory implementation and compliance as well as some troubleshooting/diagnostics/signal analysis for oil & gas drilling equipment and processes.\n What you will do:\nMust be able to manage all aspects of an engineering project, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget.\nDesign, communicate, and implement an operational plan for completing the project; monitor progress and performance against the project plan; take action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.\nIdentify, develop, and gather the resources to complete the project. This may include preparing engineering designs and work specifications; developing project schedules, selecting materials and equipment.\nLiaise with other operational areas in the organization (e.g., operations, other engineering disciplines, drafting) to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project. \nConduct meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project.\nProvide after-hours/weekend support when needed\nDomestic and international travel as needed for projects\n What you need:\nBachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science from an ABET-accredited university required\nPrior numerical computing and data simulation experience with MATLAB/Simulink, ETAP, SKM, SCADA, or similar.\nMust be able to create and read logic and flow diagrams and schematics for system/program design, programming, simulation and testing, and start-up.\nPrior experience in power systems, energy management, energy storage, microgrids, and ESG - Environmental and Social Governance- is desired.\nAbility to work with multiple engineering disciplines and operational groups\nExcellent professional and interpersonal skills.\nPLC programming and/or high-level programming (C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.) required.\nMust be able to analyze field problems; support technical service in determining various causes and solutions of software/hardware-related problems reported from the field.\nSelf-motivated individual with the ability to set and achieve goals.\nAbility to collaborate cross-functionally and be able to communicate with the field\nSolid documentation and organization skills.\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.\nNot a must, but a plus:\n5+ years of oil and gas, automotive, aerospace, manufacturing, food processing, or similar experience preferred for senior level.\nHands-on field experience with power and control systems is a plus.\nConfiguration and programming experience with VFD is a plus.\n What we offer:\nAt H&P, our commitment to our people is at the forefront, and that includes benefits that provide employees a sense of health and financial security.
