This role sits at the intersection of research, development, and business team stakeholder coordination, providing a structured and authoritative view of the state of the art in endpoint security.\nIn this role you will be leading technical analysis and documentation of endpoint security technologies to ensure the organisation maintains a clear and authoritative view of the landscape, enabling informed decision-making and innovation strategy for business success. With knowledge in the areas of systems hardware and firmware security, you will study and document the state of the art and its ability to mitigate platform threats, and work with HP teams to identify opportunities for innovation. The successful candidate will support business strategy, research and development, engineering, and marketing teams by delivering documentation, actionable insights, identifying capability gaps, and aligning stakeholders. You will be working closely with systems security research engineers, with product security technologists, and business functions across HP.\nThe successful candidate will have solid technical skills and a background in low level computer engineering architecture, ideally with knowledge in systems security and some understanding of enterprise IT architectures. Engineering skills must be complemented by excellent communication skills (written and spoken), and basic programme management and stakeholder management skills.\nJob Responsibilities\nTechnical Analysis and Documentation of Endpoint Security State of the Art\n\n-In-depth technical analysis of endpoint security across platforms and services\n-Evaluation of platforms capabilities, security properties and strengths\n-Maintain awareness of the latest threat landscape, emerging technologies, and their mitigations in the market\nDocumentation and Knowledge Management of Endpoint Security State of the Art and Platform Security Threat Landscape\n\n-Develop and maintain comprehensive, structured documentation covering market offerings, feature comparisons, and architectural patterns\n-Translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible artefacts for multiple audiences\n-Continuously update documentation based on developments in markets, standards, and opportunities\n-Define and manage documentation repositories and information architecture\nStakeholder Engagement & Decision Support\n\n-Act as a central knowledge partner to business, product, engineering, research and marketing teams across HP\n-Produce executive summaries, technical deep dives, and technology comparison briefings in a timely fashion to influence key business decisions\nProject Management and Coordination\n\n-Manage analysis and documentation initiatives, including planning and delivery tracking\n-Coordinate with subject matter experts and maintain project artefacts\n-Track progress, dependencies, and risks across workstreams and HP teams\nContinuous Research and Trend Monitoring\n\n-Monitor industry trends and threat landscape\n-Maintain a forward-looking view of endpoint security evolution\nWorking in a fast-paced environment that iterates and evolves rapidly\n\nJob Requirements\nTechnical Understanding and Expertise\n\n-Strong understanding of endpoint security technologies\n-Familiarity with hardware and firmware technologies (x86, ARM, UEFI, PCIe, DMA, etc.), and computer architecture\n-Familiarity with enterprise security platforms and services\n-Ability to analyse architectures and security controls, focusing on hardware and firmware\nAnalysis and Documentation Skills\n\n-Experience designing, analysing, and evolving system architectures to satisfy requirements\n-Ability to comprehend product level properties and customer experiences resulting from deep technical features\n-Strong ability to synthesise complex information into structured documentation aimed at the relevant stakeholders\n-Experience creating frameworks for continuous documentation, authoring reports, and reviewing with stakeholders\nCommunication Skills\n\n-Strong communication skills, written and verbal, effective with both technical and non-technical audiences\nProject Management Skills\n\n-Experience managing multiple initiatives with strong organisational skills\nSuccess Measures\n\n-High quality documentation maintained and used by the Lab and stakeholders\n-Clear identification of capability gaps and opportunities across the relevant markets\n-Strong stakeholder alignment and engagement\n-Timely delivery of outputs\nThe following skills and attributes are a plus\nEngineering level knowledge in systems security\n\nKnowledge of enterprise IT (device and security) management\n\nKnowledge of OS kernel and hypervisor security\n\nDegree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.\n\nAbout HP\nAt HP, you’ll have a chance to create tools, technology, and solutions that reshape the way the world works in the future.
