We serve as the vital link between external partner innovation roadmaps and HP’s internal engineering execution, ensuring that every innovation we pursue delivers maximum value to our customers.\nJob Summary\nThis role is responsible for providing continuous leadership to multiple subordinate managers and individual contributors, and guiding them towards established vision and strategy by applying expert subject matter knowledge. The role takes charge of resource allocation, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring alignment with program and organizational roadmaps. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams to communicate program status, escalate issues, and influence strategic decision-making. The role drives improvements in engineering products and solutions, and identifies process enhancement and cost reduction opportunities. Responsibilities\nGuides the team towards established vision and strategy for engineering solutions, across multiple areas and divisional boundaries.\nProvides direct and ongoing leadership for multiple subordinate managers and individual contributors, designing engineering solutions and managing projects for products, systems, software, and solutions.\nManages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects and programs. \nEnsures resources are appropriately allocated and goals, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.\nEngages with program managers, marketing, supply chain, technical leaders and executives to communicate program status, escalate issues, and guide and influence strategic decision-making.\nCoordinates with these cross-functional teams to drive improvement in engineering products and solutions against critical KPIs, identify opportunities for further process improvement and cost reductions, and recommends changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy.\nManages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs. \nEnsures team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources; supports commercial negotiations and establishment of terms related to services and projects.\nIdentifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities, and recommends changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy.\nApplies expert subject matter knowledge, shapes knowledge base across businesses, functions, or regions, and provides strong leadership, driving change initiatives and monitoring performance goals. \nPerforms talent and people-care management responsibilities including recruitment, performance management, coaching and career development.\nEnsures that proper knowledge, performance standards and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process development. Education & Experience Recommended\nFour-year or Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.\nTypically has 10+ years of job-related experience or 8-10 years of management experience, preferably in engineering design, engineering design tools and software packages, or a related field.
