The role collaborates with cross-functional teams, including software developers, system administrators, and project managers, to create solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure and deliver value to end-users. The role ensures the efficiency, reliability, and performance of software systems. The role provides guidance to other team members on developing validation execution plans for new technologies.\n*4-days a week in-office requirement\nResponsibilities\nOversees the installation, configuration, testing and maintenance of operating systems, application software, and system management tools.\nMonitors and tests application performance for potential bottlenecks, identifies possible solutions, and works with developers to implement those fixes.\nOptimizes software systems for performance, scalability, and resource efficiency to ensure optimal user experience.\nGathers all the system engineering requirements for the infrastructure components by working with engineering groups and other stakeholders.\nLeads multiple project teams of other software systems engineers responsible for all stages of design and development for complex products and platforms, including solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration.\nManages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on software systems design and development.\nReviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with systems design and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.\nProvides domain-specific expertise and overall software systems leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.\nDrives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the software systems design organization.\nProvides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.\nEducation & Experience Recommended\nBachelor's in computer science, Information Systems, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.\n\nTypically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in systems engineering, computer programming language, or a related field.\n\n8+ years firmware development / architecture experience\n\nBIOS / UEFI / Embedded Systems\n\nDocking Station and Notebook PC architecture\n\nUSB-C / Power Delivery\n\nUSB, PCIe, I2C\n\nSecurity firmware experience\n\nODM collaboration experience\n\nTechnical Skills\nProgramming\nC\nC++\nPython\n\nEmbedded Systems\nFirmware Development\nRTOS, Zephyr RTOS (nice to have)\nEmbedded Linux\nSystem Architecture\nDevice Drivers\nHardware/Firmware Integration\nTools & Methodologies\nGit\nCI/CD\nAgile/Scrum\nCode Reviews\nSystem Design Reviews\nSecurity\nSecure Boot\nFirmware Update Architecture\nDevice Identity\nCryptography Fundamentals\nSecurity Compliance\nThe pay range for this role is$130,700 to $205,200 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only).
