Job Summary
We are seeking a senior experienced Product Experience Planner to lead product experience strategy for our Hardware Enablement organization.
This senior individual-contributor role will define and drive the product stories of identified Consumer Hero products-connecting hardware innovation with compelling experiences, workflows, and usage scenarios that deliver clear customer value. The role will influence product direction, strengthen market differentiation, accelerate product success, and identify opportunities to expand TAM (Total Addressable Market). The successful candidate will work across product planning, design, engineering, marketing, business, and external technology partners to turn consumer insights and technical capabilities into differentiated product experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Product Experience Strategy
Own and drive the key experience strategy for Consumer Hero products.
Define compelling product stories that connect hardware capabilities with consumer needs, workflows, usage scenarios, and measurable benefits.
Establish a clear experience vision and translate it into actionable requirements, priorities, and product deliverables.
Identify unmet consumer needs, emerging behaviors, and new usage opportunities that can expand product relevance and market TAM.
Ensure that experience strategies support the broader product portfolio, brand positioning, and business objectives.
Innovation and Experience Development
Lead the incubation of innovative product and experience concepts in partnership with hardware planners and cross-functional stakeholders.
Translate consumer insights, market trends, and emerging technologies into differentiated experience opportunities.
Guide ideation, concept development, journey mapping, workflow design, prototyping, and proof-of-concept validation.
Define critical use cases and end-to-end workflows across hardware, software, services, and ecosystem touchpoints.
Evaluate concepts based on consumer value, technical feasibility, business impact, scalability, and market potential.
Hero Product Storytelling
Develop and champion clear, differentiated narratives for Consumer Hero products.
Articulate how product capabilities improve customer experiences, simplify workflows, and enable new usage scenarios.
Partner with product marketing and business teams to ensure that product positioning and go-to-market narratives accurately reflect the intended experience.
Create executive-level presentations, experience demonstrations, prototypes, and other materials that build organizational alignment.
Serve as a trusted experience authority during strategic reviews and key product decisions.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Influence product direction working with product planning, design, research, engineering, technology, marketing, and business teams.
Coordinate with external technology providers and ecosystem partners to identify and enable strategic experience opportunities.
Facilitate alignment among stakeholders with different technical, design, and commercial priorities.
Provide thought leadership, frameworks, and guidance to improve experience-planning practices across the organization.
Mentor less-experienced planners and contribute to the development of the broader experience-planning discipline.
Product Lifecycle Execution
Integrate experience planning into product lifecycle milestones, from early exploration through development, launch, and post-launch optimization.
Define experience-related deliverables, success criteria, dependencies, and decision points for each development phase.
Track execution against the intended experience vision and resolve gaps that could affect product quality or consumer value.
Partner with research and insight teams to validate concepts and measure experience performance.
Education and Experience
Four-year or Graduate Degreein design, human-computer interaction, engineering, business, product management, or a related field.
10+ years of relevant experience in product experience planning, user experience strategy, product innovation, service design, consumer electronics, hardware enablement, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated success defining and delivering experience strategies for complex consumer products.
Proven experience influencing senior stakeholders and leading cross-functional initiatives without relying solely on direct reporting authority.
Experience taking product or experience concepts from early incubation through development, launch, and market adoption.
Strong track record of translating consumer needs and technical capabilities into differentiated product stories and business opportunities.
Required Skills and Competencies
Expert-level knowledge of human-centered design, design thinking, user experience strategy, workflow design, and concept validation.
Strong understanding of consumer product development and hardware product lifecycles.
Ability to connect consumer insights, technology trends, product capabilities, and business strategy.
Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities that improve product success and expand market TAM.
Exceptional strategic thinking, storytelling, facilitation, and executive communication skills.
Strong business judgment and the ability to balance consumer value, technical feasibility, schedule, and commercial impact.
Ability to navigate ambiguity, establish direction, and lead complex initiatives across multiple organizations.
Strong stakeholder-management, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to coach and influence multidisciplinary teams at all organizational levels.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in consumer electronics, personal computing, smart devices, connected products, or adjacent hardware ecosystems.
Experience integrating hardware, software, services, AI, and partner technologies into cohesive consumer experiences.
Experience leading user research, co-creation workshops, prototyping, usability testing, and concept validation.
Demonstrated ability to build hero product narratives that contribute to successful launches and sustained market performance.
Experience working with global teams, technology providers, and strategic partners.
