what a System Interaction Engineer does at HP,
Applies Intermediate level of subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of common business issues. Works on problems of moderately complex scope. Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and limited project direction input. Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action. Follows established guidelines and interprets policies. Evaluates unique circumstances and makes recommendations.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the R&D, NPI and Manufacturing teams for both Supplies and Printer organizations to deliver on program deliverables.
- System Interaction testing and development to deliver to new program intent of meeting or exceeding customer experience.
- Work with Brand Authentication team to deliver on security solution for all programs.
- Collaborate with Supplies Quality team to further improve product quality and address top customer concerns.
- Deliver on post-MR metrics of NPI before transitioning responsibility to Supplies Manufacturing team.
- Drive continuous improvement of System Interaction test methodology by refining and updating tests so they are more customer representative and aligned to real-world use conditions.
- Leverage AI, automation, data analytics, and repeatable test frameworks to improve test coverage, execution efficiency, issue detection, and program learning reuse.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Typically 2-4 years’ experience.
- 2 years contract (Renewable/ Conversion Opportunity)
Knowledge and Skills:
- Possesses good understanding of Thermal Inkjet technology and Product Development Process /Technology Development process.
- Strong technical engineering leadership and capabilities.
- Effective leadership on planning, execution and issue resolution.
- Ability to apply AI, automation, scripting, or data-driven approaches to streamline test methodology, reduce manual effort, and strengthen engineering decision-making.
- Quick learner with strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrates a growth mindset and curiosity to explore new ideas, challenge assumptions, learn from customer insights, and continuously improve engineering practices.
- Good communication and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Possesses strong teamwork and ability to collaborate with cross function teams.
