This role is accountable for balancing supply continuity, inventory risk, working capital, and financial performance through data-driven inventory decisions and governance.\nThe position serves as the central point of leadership across Inventory Planning, Procurement, Finance, Operations, suppliers, and broker partners to optimize inventory economics throughout the product lifecycle.\nKey Responsibilities\n\nVMI Strategy & Inventory Optimization\nDefine and govern HP's global VMI strategy, operating model, policies, and performance framework.\nEstablish inventory entitlement and ownership strategies across suppliers, hubs, and factories.\nOptimize inventory levels based on demand variability, supply risk, service requirements, and lead times.\nIdentify opportunities to shift inventory ownership to suppliers while maintaining operational performance.\nDrive inventory reduction, working capital improvements, and supply continuity.\nInventory Monetization & E&O Management\nOwn the framework for disposition of excess, aging, and obsolete inventory.\nDetermine the optimal economic outcome across consumption, redeployment, supplier return, resale, brokering, or write-down scenarios.\nDevelop financial models that maximize recovery value while minimizing E&O exposure.\nPartner with Procurement and Finance to execute inventory monetization strategies and broker engagements.\nEstablish closed-loop learning to reduce future excess inventory creation.\nFinancial Governance & Working Capital\nPartner with Finance to establish inventory valuation, economic decision-making, and benefit measurement methodologies.\nEvaluate inventory decisions based on working capital, cash flow, cost of capital, inventory risk, and profitability.\nEnsure financial benefits are measurable, realized, and appropriately governed.\nProvide executive visibility to inventory exposure, opportunities, and financial impacts.\nCross-Functional Leadership & Transformation\nLead strategic initiatives across Planning, Procurement, Finance, Operations, and external partners.\nDevelop analytics, dashboards, and exception-based management processes to improve inventory performance.\nLeverage advanced analytics and AI to improve inventory entitlement, risk prediction, and monetization decisions.\nDrive the transition from reactive inventory management to proactive inventory economics optimization.\nSuccess Measures\nWorking capital and company-owned inventory reduction\nVMI inventory performance versus entitlement\nInventory turns and aging reduction\nE&O exposure reduction\nBroker recovery and inventory monetization performance\nSupplier inventory performance and material availability\nRealized financial benefits versus targets\nReduction in recurring excess inventory creation\nQualifications\n10+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Inventory Planning, Procurement, Operations, Finance, or related disciplines.\nStrong expertise in inventory planning, VMI, supplier-owned inventory, inventory finance, and working capital optimization.\nExperience with excess inventory management, inventory recovery, supplier returns, or resale channels preferred.\nProven ability to influence cross-functional organizations and drive enterprise-scale transformation.\nBachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.\nLeadership Competencies\nStrategic inventory and supply chain leadership\nStrong financial and commercial acumen\nEnterprise influence and stakeholder management\nAdvanced analytical and problem-solving skills\nProcess governance and operational excellence\nRisk management and decision-making\nExecutive communication and storytelling\nPay & Benefits\nThe pay range for this role is $105,050 to $161,800 USD annually with additional\nopportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United\nStates of America candidates only).
