This position provides leadership and oversight across the asset category to ensure safe and efficient contract drilling operations. The role partners with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, HSE, and field leadership to optimize equipment performance, maximize asset utilization, control lifecycle costs, and support operational excellence throughout the fleet.\nWhat you will do: \nThe following items represent the essential functions and accountabilities for this position. Facilitate transfers of assets according to business needs.\nMonitor asset reliability, utilization, maintenance costs, and operational performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.\nDevelop and implement standardization initiatives to improve fleet consistency, equipment performance, and operational efficiency.\nPartner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and HSE teams to resolve equipment issues and support field operations.\nProvide technical expertise and recommendations regarding equipment selection, deployment, modifications, upgrades, and replacement.\nSupport root cause investigations and corrective action development for significant equipment failures.\nLead or support capital projects involving specialized drilling equipment and related infrastructure.\nDevelop and manage operating and capital budgets associated with assigned asset categories.\nEvaluate new technologies, products, and vendors to improve safety, reliability, and operational performance.\nMaintain compliance with company policies, customer requirements, OEM recommendations, and applicable industry standards.\nSupport internal audits, equipment inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.\nDevelop and maintain relationships with equipment manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, asset utilization, cost optimization, and operational performance.\nProvide leadership, coaching, and guidance to employees and stakeholders supporting specialized equipment programs.\n\nWhat you need:\nAdvanced knowledge of land drilling rig equipment and FlexRig operations.\nStrong understanding of well control equipment, drilling fluids systems, and mechanical equipment utilized in drilling operations.\nKnowledge of asset management principles, lifecycle planning, reliability engineering, and maintenance best practices.\nUnderstanding of relevant industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to analyze operational and financial data to support strategic decision-making.\nStrong project management and program execution capabilities.\nEffective leadership and team-building skills.\nAbility to influence and collaborate across multiple functional areas.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nProficiency with asset management systems, enterprise software, and Microsoft Office applications.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.\nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, Industrial Management, or related field preferred.\nMinimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in drilling operations, equipment management, maintenance, engineering, reliability, or asset management.\nExperience supporting land drilling rigs and drilling equipment systems required.\nExperience managing capital projects, equipment programs, and asset lifecycle activities preferred.\nDemonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives and driving continuous improvement efforts.\nCombination of education and relevant industry experience may be considered.\nTRAVEL\nThis position requires travel.
