The role manages headcount, resources, schedules, and costs across multiple ongoing projects, and builds relationships with development partners. The role brings domain-specific expertise, providing leadership and mechanical/thermal perspective to cross-organization projects. The role evaluates designs for compliance with technology and drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects. Responsibilities\nBe the technical expert lead of the LaserJet Color/Mono Single Function and All-in-One development team located in Singapore.\nThe primary skills will center on LaserJet product design, development, qualification and coordination with part and mechanism for Single Function (SF) and AiO products.\nBe responsible for the development of HP Mono and Color Laser Single Function Product (SFP)/Multi-Function Product (MFP) printer related to mechanical/electrical systems, coordinating between key internal asset owners and external partners.\nManage all engineering aspects of printers throughout the product lifecycle (including architecture, design requirements gathering, schedule, specifications, phase exit approvals, issues tracking, driving issue resolution/closure and release for production) \nInvestigate and evaluate technical options/countermeasures and represents the engine team response to the cross functional teams that meets the business and technical requirements.\nWork with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners to develop HP Mono and Color Laser SFP/MFP printer that meet schedule, quality, cost requirements and end to end customer experience.\nLead and drives the implementations effort for engine and cartridge specification and qualification, partner with corporate Industrial Design initiatives and assist the development and execution of margin and specification test plans during development.\nEducation & Experience Recommended\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.\nTypically, 6-10 years’ experience\nBackground in LaserJet mono and color printing technologies, image scanning fundamentals and Laserjet cartridge technologies (preferred but not compulsory)\nGeneral understanding of mechanical induced image defects, document feeder operation and impact on copied image\nStrong CAD/CAM modeling skills and plastic/sheet metal design experience\nStrong skills to balance tradeoffs between feature robustness and cost\nTooling and tool design background and design for manufacturing principles\nStrong leadership skills, teamwork within both technical and non-technical communities\nAbility to organize technical issues and drive to resolution through strong negotiation skill.\nAbility to simplify process and project management skill.\nStrong initiative, work independently with growth mindset.\nUnderstanding of Japanese culture\n25% domestic and international travel is expected.\nPreferred Certifications\nNA\nKnowledge & Skills\n3D Modeling\nAnsys Simulation Software\nComputer-Aided Design\nElectromechanics\nEngineering Design Process\nFinite Element Methods\nInjection Molding\nMachining\nManufacturing Processes\nMechanical Design\nMechanical Engineering\nMechanical Systems\nNew Product Development\nProduct Design\nProduct Lifecycle Management\nPrototyping\nPTC Creo (CAD Suite)\nSheet Metal\nSolidWorks (CAD)\nThermal Management\nTolerance Stack Analysis\nCross-Org Skills\nEffective Communication\nResults Orientation\nLearning Agility\nDigital Fluency\nCustomer Centricity Impact & Scope\nImpacts function and leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives.
