This is a fantastic full-time opportunity for a collaborative, hands on and experienced software developer to join a small but growing team.\nResponsibilities for the Browser Software Engineer\nDevelop and maintain core features of HP Wolf Security's secure browsing products\n\nDesign, code, debug, test and optimize software using modern C++\n\nDevelop secure browser capabilities on Chromium-based browsers (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge)\n\nDevelop and enhance Firefox-based secure browser functionality using JavaScript, TypeScript and Gecko technologies\n\nBuild and maintain browser extensions and web-based functionality\n\nDevelop automation, testing and validation frameworks using Python\n\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex software defects, performance issues and security vulnerabilities\n\nParticipate in architecture and technical design discussions\n\nCollaborate with software engineers, architects, security researchers and product teams to deliver enterprise security solutions\n\nPerform code reviews and contribute to software quality, maintainability and engineering best practices\n\nRequirements for the Browser Software Engineer\nStrong commercial experience developing software in modern C++\n\nProficient in software design, coding, debugging, testing and performance optimisation\n\nExperience developing software for Windows environments\n\nExperience working with JavaScript and/or TypeScript\n\nExperience developing browser-based applications, browser extensions or web technologies\n\nKnowledge of Chromium and/or Firefox browser architectures and code bases\n\nStrong understanding of object-oriented design principles, data structures and algorithms\n\nExperience using source control systems and modern software development practices (Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub)\n\nExperience contributing to automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and software quality initiatives\n\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills\n\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills\n\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent practical experience\n\nA Great Browser Software Engineer will have exposure to the following\nCybersecurity, endpoint security or secure browsing technologies\n\nPython development for automation and test tooling\n\nFirefox Gecko internals or Chromium browser internals\n\nCloud technologies and services (Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform)\n\nScripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash or similar technologies\n\nTechnical leadership, mentoring or architecture design activities\n\nLocation & working model\nThis role is based in HP’s Cambridge office under a hybrid working arrangement, with a minimum requirement to be onsite three days per week.
