The ideal candidate has experience working across platform software stacks and understands the unique opportunities and constraints of modern operating systems and ecosystem experiences.\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn and drive the end-to-end lifecycle of major software initiatives, from early discovery and framing through delivery, launch, and iteration\nDefine and evangelize a compelling product vision that aligns customer needs, platform strategy, and HP's long-term business objectives\nIdentify and translate emerging technologies, platforms, and business models into scalable product opportunities\nLead deep market, customer, and ecosystem analysis to inform product strategy and investment decisions\nPartner with engineering and architecture leaders to make principled technical tradeoffs that balance velocity, quality, and long-term platform health\nOrchestrate execution across highly matrixed teams (engineering, UX, commercial, marketing, partnerships, legal, and operations)\nServe as a senior product voice in roadmap reviews, executive forums, and cross-division planning\nLeverage quantitative insights and qualitative feedback to continuously refine product direction and measure success\nEngage directly with customers, partners, and internal teams to surface insights, validate strategy, and influence outcomes\nMentor and guide other product managers, helping raise the overall product bar across the organization\nDrive product strategy for software experiences that span operating system, platform, and application layers, balancing customer needs with long-term platform evolution\nPartner with platform, architecture, and engineering teams to evaluate emerging operating system capabilities, ecosystem trends, and technology investments that can create differentiated customer experiences\nDefine requirements and roadmaps that account for cross-platform interoperability, device-to-device experiences, cloud services integration, and evolving user workflows\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, operating systems, or a closely related technical field\n10+ years of experience in software product management or closely related roles\nDemonstrated success delivering large-scale, customer-facing software products\nExperience operating in complex, global, cross-functional environments\nExperience working with modern operating system platforms, including Windows, Linux, Android, or comparable software ecosystems\nMust-Have Experience\nLed multiple 0-to-1 and 1-to-N initiatives with clear customer and business impact\nDefined and executed product strategy across platform-level or portfolio-level surfaces\nPartnered deeply with engineering teams on architecture, systems design, and technical decision-making\nApplied strong analytical thinking to product decisions, tradeoffs, and prioritization\nInfluenced senior leadership through clear storytelling, data, and structured thinking\nDemonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, competing priorities, and organizational complexity\nProven effectiveness in resource-constrained or fast-moving environments\nExperience defining products or platform capabilities that interact deeply with operating system services, platform APIs, or device ecosystems\nDeep understanding of modern operating system architecture, platform services, application frameworks, security models, and software lifecycle considerations across Windows, Linux, Android, or similar environments\nExperience collaborating with engineering teams responsible for platform software, operating system integrations, developer frameworks, device services, or ecosystem experiences\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with mobile software ecosystems, smartphone platforms, or connected device experiences\nFamiliarity with Windows, Linux, and Android platform roadmaps, developer ecosystems, and application
