As a Worldwide Technical Regulations (WTR) Compliance Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring HP products meet global regulatory, safety, environmental, cybersecurity, telecommunications, and market access requirements.\nWorking as part of the WTR , you will collaborate with product development teams, manufacturing partners, certification laboratories, and regulatory experts worldwide to enable compliant and successful product launches. You will help drive compliance strategies throughout the product development lifecycle while balancing technical, business, and schedule objectives.\nThis role provides the opportunity to influence products sold globally and work with experts across engineering, cybersecurity, sustainability, and regulatory compliance disciplines.\nSuccess in this Role\nSuccessful candidates are curious, collaborative, and technically strong engineers who enjoy solving complex compliance challenges. They are capable of balancing detailed technical requirements with business priorities and can influence diverse stakeholders to achieve compliant, on-time product launches.\nResponsibilities:\nEnsure HP products comply with applicable global regulatory and technical requirements, including Safety, EMC, Wireless/Telecom, Energy Efficiency and Cybersecurity regulations.\n\nPartner with product development teams early in the design cycle to identify regulatory requirements and compliance risks.\n\nManage compliance activities for multiple product development programs from concept through commercialization.\n\nDevelop and execute certification strategies that support product launch schedules and worldwide market access objectives.\n\nCoordinate and oversee regulatory compliance testing performed by ODM/OEM partners and accredited third-party laboratories.\n\nReview and approve regulatory documentation, including test reports, technical files, certifications, declarations, and supporting evidence.\n\nPrepare and maintain Declarations of Conformity and other compliance documentation required for global product distribution.\n\nCollaborate with engineering, product management, legal, sourcing, supply chain, and worldwide regulatory teams to resolve compliance issues and drive timely approvals.\n\nCommunicate certification status, compliance risks, and mitigation plans to project teams and management.\n\nIdentify opportunities to improve compliance processes, tools, automation, and operational efficiency.\n\nEducation & Experience:\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM discipline.\n\nTypically 4-6 years of experience in product engineering or regulatory compliance, or a related technical field.\n\nKnowledge of one or more regulatory compliance disciplines, including:\nProduct Safety\n\nElectromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)\n\nWireless/Telecommunications Regulations\n\nEnergy Efficiency\n\nProduct Cybersecurity\n\nExperience managing technical projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.\n\nExperience working with suppliers, manufacturing partners, certification agencies, and testing laboratories.\n\nAnalytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across global teams.\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced product development environment.\n\nProject or program management experience is a plus.\n\nExperience with PCs, workstations, peripherals, consumer electronics, networking, IoT, or related technology products.\n\nFamiliarity with global certification and regulatory frameworks such as CE, FCC, ICES, UKCA, VCCI, BSMI, KC, NCC, TELEC, SRRC, ICASA, BIS, and other international market-access requirements.\n\nUnderstanding of product development processes and New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.\n\nDisclaimer\nThis job description describes the general nature and level of work performed in this role.
