This role combines people leadership, operational accountability, vendor management, and technical oversight to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient technology solutions.\nWhy Join Us?\nYou'll have the opportunity to shape the future of enterprise data and AI capabilities, lead a talented engineering team, influence technology strategy, and help deliver innovative solutions that create measurable business value across the organization.\nResponsibilities include but not limited to:\nLead and develop a team of Data Platform and AI Engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.\nDrive successful delivery of platform, data, and AI initiatives while managing priorities, risks, dependencies, and resource allocation.\nOversee day-to-day platform operations, production support, incident response, and service reliability.\nManage engineering capacity planning, staffing strategies, and workforce development.\nServe as the primary relationship manager for engineering vendors, including phData, ensuring quality delivery and knowledge transfer.\nLead platform upgrades, modernization efforts, lifecycle management, and production readiness activities.\nEstablish and enforce engineering standards, development practices, operational procedures, and quality expectations.\nPartner with Architecture, Product, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions.\nDrive technical debt reduction strategies and platform health improvements to support long-term sustainability.\nProvide technical leadership and remove impediments to effective technology delivery aligned with business priorities and technology standards.\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.\n7+ years of experience in software, data, platform, cloud, or AI engineering.\n3+ years of people leadership experience managing technical teams.\nExperience leading delivery and operational support for enterprise technology platforms.\nStrong understanding of cloud platforms, DevOps, automation, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices.\nExperience managing vendors, consulting partners, and outsourced engineering teams.\nProven ability to balance delivery commitments, operational excellence, and talent development.\nStrong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience leading Data Platform Engineering, AI Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or Cloud Engineering teams.\nExperience with Informatica, Reltio, Cloud Database platforms like Snowflake, AI/ML platforms, or modern data ecosystems.\nFinancial services or regulated industry experience.\nExperience with platform modernization, engineering governance, and production operations.\nFamiliarity with Agile, Scrum, and product-based delivery models.\nDemonstrated success building and developing high-performing engineering teams.\n#LI-Hybrid **This position will have a hybrid working arrangement, working in-office for a minimum of 3 days a week.**\nSecurian Financial believes in hybrid work as an integral part of our culture.
