Our aim within the programme is to develop and motivate top students as Fund Accountants by building challenging roles for them; helping them develop valuable skills; and giving them direction in their future career choices. As a Fund Accounting Intern, you will be responsible for the execution of challenging tasks within the Fund Accounting department. You will work within the guidelines and procedures provided by HSFT and under the supportive supervision and guidance of a Fund Accounting Supervisor and Fund Accounting Manager. You can expect to be seen as a key member of the team, involved in all matters. Integral to the Fund Accountant Intern’s role, is the reconciliation, trade capture, processing of corporate actions and pricing. You will be required to perform these core tasks accurately and in a timely and efficient manner. Interns can also get involved in HSFT’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and charity work.\nKey Accountabilities of the Role\nAssist in the production of daily, weekly and monthly NAV, ensuring completion of specified tasks per NAV checklists\n Perform cash, position and market value reconciliations between HSFT, brokers and clients\nIdentify and investigate break items on reconciliations in a timely manner\nEscalate fund accounting issues and aged items to the Fund Accounting Supervisor\nEnsure all positions are priced correctly\nVerify corporate actions to ensure accurate processing\nPrepare daily profit and loss reports and review for reasonableness\nCalculate and process income and expense accruals including fee calculations and trading accruals\nComply with HSFT’s defined checklists, procedures and controls\nAssist in the audit process if required\nAttend and participate in team meetings\nConverse and liaise with internal service departments to resolve miscellaneous fund issues\nEnsure pre agreed internal and external deadlines are met consistently\nRequired Knowledge, Skills and Experience\nStrong academic background with an interest in financial services\nProficient with technology including having used Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Teams\nClear communicator, who can articulate their actions, identify root causes, and suggest improved ideas\nYou will have analytical mind with problem-solving skills\nYou will be attentive to detail, well organised and will be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines\nEffective interpersonal
