Your work will generate valuable insights that inform investment decisions and drive performance improvements across the Data Intelligence Team.\nAbout the Role\nLead in the development of a comprehensive benchmarking database and contribute to the reporting process to deliver timely, accurate insights that support informed decision-making.\nProvide leadership to the Data Intelligence team by setting individuals' objectives, reviewing performance, undertaking appraisals and providing ongoing feedback on a formal and informal basis, to ensure all staff are aware of what they are required to achieve and how they are performing against their objectives.\nResponsible for developing and maintaining robust data models that support interactive dashboard visualizations, enabling management to identify key issues and take informed action through root cause analysis evaluation.\nAnalysing construction project control processes and interrogating client workflows to design and document business processes with a focus on digital transformation.\nResponsible for periodic and ad-hoc reporting, taking ownership for its quality, accuracy, and robustness, and ensure the monthly project review pack is compiled and presented to the leadership team on time.\nSupport the Data Analyst and the Head of Data Intelligence to establish, monitor, and manage the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) and periodically collate KPIs & progress data related to time, cost, risk, change and quality to report to senior leaders of the project.\nContribute to the development and implementation of a robust performance measurement system such as Earned Value Management and ensure its integration into periodic reporting frameworks.\nSupport the Data Analyst in the integration of schedule, cost, scope, quality, change, and risk data to deliver a comprehensive view of project health and analyse the insights within the monthly reporting pack to enable timely and informed decision-making.\nShare lessons learned and best practice within the Programme and Project Controls community.\nSupport the Head of Data Intelligence team in the production of regular and ad-hoc MI and progress reports at the relevant level (Contract, Phase or HS2 Programme).\nManage large volumes of data and lead the analysis of performance data, identifying key trends and issues, articulating analysis through appropriate charts and summary narratives, to inform business decisions.\nManage large volumes of cost data from both internal and external sources and will be responsible for converting this into meaningful intelligence.\nSupport the Data Analyst to provide meaningful analysis, reports and intelligence.\nActively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work, and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.\nAbout You\nSkills\nMembership of RICS, ACostE, ICES, or a similar relevant professional association, and degree qualified or equivalent experience, or achieved NVQ Level 2 in Project Controls. Additional certifications such as APM PFQ, PMQ, or EVM are highly desirable.\nAbility to develop an analysis of external influencing factors such as inflation and market trends.\nProficient in Power BI and MS Excel, with experience working across varied complex datasets to develop interactive dashboards and extract meaningful business and performance insights.\nKnowledge\nKnowledge of the Microsoft Power Suite of applications, able to use Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI to build input forms, develop workflow processes and generate attractive & interactive visualisation.\nWorking knowledge of schedule management, cost management and risk management principles.\nAbility to manage a team of Project Controls Data Analysts, stakeholders and information flow in a matrix environment, possessing a strong aptitude toward working horizontally across business areas and vertically to senior levels of management, providing specialist advice as required.\nKnowledge of transport, energy, major infrastructure, or construction projects (under NEC Forms of Contract), specifically surrounding client and consultancy.\nA continuous improvement mindset.\nType of Experience\nProven experience leading Project Controls and Data Analysis teams, delivering key products within large-scale infrastructure projects and applying hands-on methodologies to support successful project delivery.\nProven experience in transforming and structuring large datasets using Power Query, and skilled in advanced data analysis with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for generating deep insights and calculations.\nExpertise in Advanced Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data visualization, and automation to support robust data analysis and reporting.\nWe ask for a variety of detail in your online application, however we perform the first assessment of suitability for a role based solely on the information in your CV.
