HSBC Asset Management connects HSBC’s clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in 23 countries and territories, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.\nPurpose of the Job:\nThe role is responsible for identifying, designing and implementing automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, service quality, control effectiveness and sales support across the business.\nThe job holder will work closely with Operations and Sales and other stakeholders to understand business requirements, analyse processes and data, and deliver fit-for-purpose automation using approved automation tools and platforms. The role will also be responsible for producing accurate and timely management information, dashboards and performance insights to support business decisions, operational governance and sales effectiveness.\nThe role holder will manage automation initiatives and reporting deliverables from assessment through implementation and ongoing optimisation. This includes process mapping, data analysis, opportunity assessment, requirements definition, solution design, testing, implementation, documentation, user adoption and benefits tracking.\nThe role requires a strong focus on responsible automation, data quality, information security, operational resilience and appropriate controls. Automation must enhance the colleague and customer experience without compromising regulatory obligations, data protection or the integrity of management information.\nKey Responsibilities:\nIdentify and prioritise suitable automation opportunities across Operations and Sales.\nAnalyse existing processes to identify manual effort, duplication, control weaknesses, delays and opportunities for standardisation.\nDesign and implement workflow automations using approved tools, platforms and development standards.\nTranslate business requirements into clear automation specifications, process maps and user stories.\nWork with Technology and relevant control functions to ensure solutions are secure, supportable, scalable and compliant.\nDevelop and maintain MIS, dashboards and performance reporting for Operations and Sales.\nConsolidate data from approved sources and perform analysis to identify trends, productivity opportunities, service issues and business risks.\nEstablish appropriate data definitions, validation checks and reconciliation processes to support accurate reporting\nProvide regular reporting on automation pipeline, delivery status, benefits, productivity, service performance and key risks.\nMaintain appropriate process documentation, operating procedures, control evidence and support materials.\nMonitor automated workflows and reporting solutions, resolving incidents and coordinating enhancements where required.\nPromote effective adoption of automation and dashboards through communication, training and stakeholder engagement.\nKey Skills:\nKnowledge of capital markets, financial products, asset management and mutual fund operations.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capability.\nAbility to interpret data and turn analysis into practical recommendations.\nProficiency in automation tools, Python, SQL, Power BI, Excel and dashboard or reporting development.\nStructured approach to process design and documentation.\nAttention to detail, particularly in relation to data accuracy and control requirements.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nSelf-starter with initiative, curiosity and a continuous-improvement mindset.\nFormal Qualifications / Prior Work Experience:\nGraduate degree or equivalent professional experience in business, technology, operations, data analytics, finance or a related discipline.\nRelevant qualification or practical experience in process improvement, automation, business analysis, data analytics or project delivery.\nWorking knowledge of Power BI, Alteryx, Python, Microsoft Excel and data visualisation or reporting tools.\nFamiliarity with approved workflow automation, low-code/no-code or robotic process automation tools.\nAs an employee, you are required to perform your duties in a professional capacity exercising independent judgement, discretion and decision-making authority in planning, organising, directing work, supervising and appraising the work of team members, as applicable; and taking accountability for delivery outcomes.
