The Role

As Engineering Lead for Customer Onboarding Solutions (COS) you’ll own the technical direction and end-to-end delivery of our customer onboarding engineering capabilities across frontend, mobile, backend and integration services. This role is accountable for engineering excellence, predictable delivery and production stability in a highly regulated financial services environment. You’ll translate product and business priorities into executable delivery plans and ensure each sprint produces measurable, deployable outcomes. You’ll set the standard for secure, resilient and scalable onboarding journeys and reusable platform capabilities that support multiple products, markets and customer journeys. Success means safer releases, stronger reliability in production and simpler customer journeys built on consistent engineering patterns.

Principal responsibilities

• Own engineering delivery across the build-test-release-run lifecycle from design through production operation
• Shape delivery plans with clear scope, milestones, dependencies, risks and target dates aligned to business priorities
• Establish measurable sprint outcomes that result in usable and deployable customer or platform capabilities
• Coordinate dependencies across Product, Operations, Architecture, Platform, control functions and downstream engineering teams
• Set technical direction for COS web and mobile journeys, backend microservices and integration services with Architecture and Principal Engineers
• Govern API-first development including API lifecycle management, backward compatibility and contract testing
• Embed engineering standards for coding, code review, testing and release practices aligned to enterprise frameworks
• Strengthen production operability through monitoring, logging, alerting, dashboards and runbooks plus clear SLIs/SLOs for critical services
• Guide incident response and root-cause analysis and ensure permanent corrective actions are implemented
• Ensure secure SDLC practices and evidence, controls and documentation to support governance and regulatory review

Knowledge & Experience/Qualifications

• Bring proven experience managing and coaching cross-functional engineering teams delivering enterprise-scale customer systems
• Demonstrate full-lifecycle delivery experience in Agile and continuous delivery environments across build-test-release-run
• Show a track record translating business objectives into structured engineering plans with milestones, dependencies, risks and outcomes
• Bring strong knowledge of modern frontend and mobile engineering alongside enterprise backend technologies such as Java/Spring Boot, .NET or Node.js
• Demonstrate expertise in REST APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures and distributed integration patterns
• Apply strong software engineering fundamentals including OO design, SOLID principles, design patterns, automated testing and performance engineering
• Bring hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and engineering quality gates
• Demonstrate cloud-native engineering capability including observability, incident management and SLI/SLO-based reliability practices
• Show experience designing and operating highly available, resilient enterprise applications in regulated environments
• Communicate technical complexity, delivery risks and trade-offs clearly to technical and business stakeholders while managing cross-team dependencies
