You’ll also support the responsible adoption of AI, automation, cloud and data-led capabilities to deliver sustainable business value.\nWhat you’ll do\nShape technology strategy\nSet and deliver the regional Finance Technology strategy, aligned with the global roadmap and enterprise technology vision.\nDefine investment plans, platform roadmaps and modernisation priorities.\nDrive simplification, standardisation, automation and the responsible use of AI, cloud and emerging technologies.\nPartner with the business\nAct as a trusted adviser to Finance executives and business leaders.\nInfluence strategic decisions through strong technology expertise, Finance domain knowledge and industry insight.\nPromote secure, scalable and resilient solutions through modern engineering, automation, DevSecOps and observability.\nManage platforms and technology roadmaps\nLead platform modernisation, simplification, consolidation, decommissioning and the controlled containment of legacy platforms.\nReduce technical debt through disciplined standardisation and lifecycle management.\nEnsure platform and architecture decisions align with enterprise standards and Future State Architecture.\nManage financial performance\nOwn regional technology budgets across Run, Change and Investment portfolios.\nImprove financial transparency, cost efficiency and value optimisation.\nSupport investment prioritisation and develop robust business cases.\nLead governance and stakeholder engagement\nRepresent Technology at governance forums, regulatory reviews, audits and inspections.\nProvide accurate evidence and ensure regulatory commitments are delivered fully and on time.\nBuild effective partnerships across Technology, Finance, Operations, Risk and Compliance, Cyber Security, Architecture, Engineering and external providers.\nWhat you’ll bring\nA full-time graduation degree of at least three years is essential for obtaining a UAE visa and work permit. For degrees obtained outside the UAE, valid attestations and equivalency are also mandatory.\nSignificant senior technology leadership experience within financial services, typically gained over 10 or more years.\nA proven track record leading Finance Technology portfolios in a regional or global organisation.\nDeep knowledge of Finance platforms, processes, enterprise applications and banking technology.\nExperience delivering large-scale technology transformation and modernisation programmes.\nExperience engaging with regulators, auditors and senior governance forums.\nStrong financial management experience, including budgeting, investment planning, Total Cost of Ownership and cost optimisation.\nA track record of delivering cloud adoption, AI-enabled transformation, automation and modern engineering practices.\nStrong knowledge of technology risk, controls, operational resilience and regulatory obligations.\nThe ability to communicate complex technology and Finance topics clearly to senior, non-technical audiences.\nStrong influencing, negotiation, decision-making and partnership skills.\nA commitment to inclusive leadership, continuous learning and developing high-performing teams.\nWhy this role matters\nFinance Technology plays a vital role in supporting effective financial management, informed decision-making and sustainable business growth.\nIn this role, you’ll help build a simpler, more resilient and future-ready technology landscape-balancing innovation with the control, stability and responsibility expected in financial services.\nHSBC is committed to building a culture where all employees are valued, respected and heard.
