We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper and, ultimately, helping people to fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.\nWe are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Governance Functional Business Analyst.\nPurpose of the role\nThe Corporate Governance Functional Business Analyst supports the delivery and continuous improvement of corporate governance processes, controls, data and technology solutions.\nThe role works across business and technology teams to understand needs, translate them into clear and actionable requirements, and support successful implementation through testing, business sign-off and controlled release.\nThe role holder will be comfortable working with ambiguity, bringing structure to complex problems and progressing work with a practical, can-do attitude. They’ll communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders, and ensure that requirements, decisions, testing outcomes and approvals are documented to a high standard.\nExperience using Digital Governance systems is preferred.\nIn this role, you will:\nEngage stakeholders to understand governance, process, control, data and reporting needs.\nManage ambiguity by clarifying scope, assumptions, dependencies, risks and impacts.\nFacilitate requirements elicitation and document clear, concise and testable requirements.\nAnalyse current- and future-state processes, identifying control gaps, inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.\nWork with business, technology, data, risk and control teams to define practical solution options.\nMaintain traceability across requirements, design, testing, approvals and implementation.\nPlan and coordinate testing, document evidence and defects, support retesting and obtain formal business sign-off.\nPrepare release documentation, support manager approvals and contribute to controlled implementation.\nTo be successful you will:\nHave proven experience leading complex requirements elicitation and resolving ambiguous, conflicting or changing needs.\nHave experience producing high-quality process, control, solution and functional-design documentation with minimal rework.\nBe able to assess options across feasibility, risk, constraints, user impact and value and make evidence-based recommendations.\nHave experience defining data and reporting requirements and resolving data quality, privacy and storage issues.\nHave experience designing test strategies, coordinating UAT, maintaining traceability and securing business sign-off.\nHave hands-on experience using Digital Governance tools or systems, including governance workflows, records, reporting, approvals or controls.\nBe able to manage multiple workstreams, dependencies and risks across Agile and/or waterfall environments.\nHave strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, including confidence engaging senior leaders and challenging constructively.\nYou’ll achieve more at HSBC\nwww.hsbc.com/careers\nHSBC is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a culture where all employees are valued, respected and opinions count.
