GIA provides independent and objective assurance over the design and operating effectiveness of the Group’s framework of risk management, control and governance processes. GIA possesses specialized capabilities and skills through its versatile, inquisitive, and diverse team of global professionals.\nGIA values the diversity of perspectives, knowledge and experiences and we encourage candidates from an array of disciplines and backgrounds. GIA supports flexible working.\nThe role covers auditing processes in Operations, primarily located in the Global Capability Networks, that support HSBC’s business activities globally.\nResponsibilities:\nConfirm that audit findings and recommendations are understood and with proposed mitigations\nDeliver quality work within the given timeframes, standards, methodology, budget, and best practices.\nDemonstrate knowledge of the of the applicable business and regulatory environment impacting Operations, including developing trends, risks, controls, and expectations.\nSupport a strong risk and conduct culture across the Group and promote awareness and sound operational and strategic decision-making.\nCritically analyse and determine key drivers of change for area of coverage and assess how these will impact audits.\nIdentifies audit process improvements to increase productivity and efficiency without impacting effectiveness.\nUse insights, industry knowledge and current developments to assess areas of concern.\nCoherently articulate audit exceptions and findings to GIA team members and management, and as necessary to business and/or functional stakeholders\nEffectively discuss potentially challenging matters and ability to communicate with impact and articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences\nExperience & Qualifications:\n6+ years relevant work experience in the Financial Services Sector, consultancy, and external audit will be considered, but is not always essential.\nApplicable knowledge of the regulatory requirements and business processes related to Operations.\nUndergraduate or graduate degree in business, accounting, mathematics, or social sciences\nPreference given to qualified accountants, CIA, CISA, CFE, or ACAMS\nFluency in English\nMature team player who is highly professional\nPrior knowledge of Internal Audit is preferred.\nNote\nAs an employee, you are required to perform your duties in a professional capacity exercising independent judgement, discretion and decision-making authority in planning, organising, directing work, supervising and appraising the work of team members, as applicable; and taking accountability for delivery outcomes.
