The team ensures accounting policies are correctly and consistently applied and that trading portfolios are appropriately valued. As a Junior Product Controller in the Global Finance Operations Centre in Krakow you’ll support daily and monthly P&L and balance sheet reconciliations and substantiation, reporting and P&L attribution. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across Product Control, IT, Operations, Change and the business to meet requirements as they arise.\nWhat you’ll do\nProduce daily and monthly P&L and balance sheet reconciliations, substantiation and reporting for assigned trading desks.\nReview key P&L components including new trade P&L, market environment P&L, carry P&L and cancel and amend activity.\nPrepare accurate Value-at-Risk VaR and non-VaR P&L attribution for back testing.\nUpload results for management review and prepare commentary and analysis on key movements.\nIdentify production exceptions, resolve where possible and coordinate with other Product Control teams to close breaks.\nPerform basic balance sheet analysis and control tasks to support accurate books and records.\nMaintain process documentation and share knowledge to support consistent delivery.\nSupport automation of manual processes to improve productivity and control.\nWhat you need to have to succeed in this role\nCommunicate effectively in written and spoken English with stakeholders at different levels of seniority.\nApply knowledge of financial markets including traded products and their life cycle.\nUse understanding of accounting principles and valuation techniques to support independent P&L and balance sheet validation.\nInterpret P&L attribution and understand how P&L interacts with risk positions and market movements.\nInvestigate issues as they arise and resolve production exceptions and management queries promptly.\nWork effectively with colleagues across Valuation Control, onshore teams and other support functions.\nUse MS Excel confidently for analysis and reporting.\nBring product control or valuation control experience or equivalent relevant
