You’ll contribute to the stability, scalability, and automation of our cloud-based production environments and play a key role in ensuring our services are reliable and high-performing.\nYou’ll support system availability, monitoring, alerting, SLOs/SLIs and incident response; deploy and manage containerised applications, contribute to CI/CD and Kubernetes GitOps practices; automate processes, and work closely with development, QA and operations teams to resolve complex issues and improve services.\nAs an HSBC employee in the UK, you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.\nIn this role you’ll:\nMaintain and support production systems to ensure high availability, reliability and scalability.\nImplement SRE practices, including monitoring, alerting, SLOs, SLIs and incident response.\nDeploy, configure and manage containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes.\nDevelop and enhance CI/CD pipelines to improve software delivery and deployment processes.\nAutomate operational tasks using Python, Bash, Go or comparable scripting languages.\nCollaborate with development, QA and operations teams to resolve issues and improve services.\nParticipate in the on-call support rota and respond to production incidents promptly.\nDocument procedures, system configurations and post-incident reviews to support continuous learning and improvement.\nTo be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:\nHands-on experience in SRE, DevOps or production support.\nPractical knowledge of GCP, AWS or Azure environments.\nExperience with Docker and Kubernetes; knowledge of Helm or Istio is advantageous.\nAbility to use tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Jaeger or Datadog.\nFamiliarity with Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, FluxCD or Tekton.\nProficiency in Python, Bash, Go or comparable languages.\nStrong analytical skills and the ability to resolve complex production issues.\nExperience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible, plus exposure to microservices and high-availability environments.\nOpening up a world of opportunity\nBeing open to different points of view is important for our business and the communities we serve.
