Whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or simply take you in an exciting new direction, HSBC offers opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.\nHSBC Service Delivery (Polska) Sp. z o.o. is part of HSBC Holdings plc, a global banking and financial services organisation headquartered in London, serving customers worldwide across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East and North Africa.\nWe’re currently hiring for the role of Technical Lead (Full Stack) within HSBC Global FX Services (GFS) in Markets and Securities Services (MSS).\nYour team\nYou’ll join a technology team within CIB Technology (our investment bank), where engineering is central to how we deliver electronic trading and FX services.\nThe Kraków-based pod is part of a global engineering organisation (~50 people) with teams in:\nEurope: UK, Kraków\nAPAC: China, Hong Kong\nNorth America: Toronto\nThe team builds and supports applications enabling a diverse set of FX services for institutional clients, including:\nFX Prime Brokerage services for the alternative fund manager industry\nFX Hedging services for Asset Managers\nFX order management and execution for Custodians acting on behalf of their clients\nYour role (what you’ll lead and deliver)\nAs a Technical Lead, you’ll be hands-on while also setting direction and raising engineering standards across the team.\nYou will:\nLead the design and delivery of high-volume, low-latency FX systems where performance, scalability, and resiliency matter.\nDrive technical decisions on architecture, microservices patterns, API design, data storage, and front-end integration.\nAct as a coach and multiplier: support engineers through code reviews, pairing/mentoring, and pragmatic guidance on implementation and design trade-offs.\nOwn end-to-end delivery in a DevOps model: development, testing, release, observability, and production support.\nEnable frequent and safe releases: the team releases to production daily, using agile practices and iterative delivery.\nEnsure production readiness through instrumentation, alerting, incident readiness, and continuous improvement.\nPartner closely with global colleagues in Guangzhou, Toronto, and London to deliver across time zones.\nEnsure compliance with internal cybersecurity controls, address vulnerabilities, and build secure-by-design solutions.\n Act as the local entity manager in Poland for Poland-based colleagues, performing required local entity (HSBC Service Delivery Polska) duties in line with applicable governance and regulatory expectations.\nWorking model:\nThis role is based in Kraków with an expectation to be in the office twice a week (or as advised by the local Poland entity).\nTechnology stack\nBack-end: Java, Spring / Spring Boot, microservices\nRuntime: Linux\n Databases: SQL RDBMS (Sybase / Oracle / PostgreSQL)\nFront-end: Angular, React, JavaScript libraries and frameworks\nWhat you'll need to succedd in this role:\n10+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, including substantial Java full stack delivery.\nStrong knowledge of microservices architecture, ideally with Spring Boot.\nSolid experience with server-side development in Java (Node.js, Ruby, Go are a plus).\nStrong front-end experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular/React highly desirable).\nWorking knowledge of database technologies such as MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.\nDegree in Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).\nExperience in financial services / investment banking is highly valued.\nDemonstrable strengths in:\nProblem-solving and ownership mindset\nBuilding clean, high-quality, secure solutions\nAgile delivery practices\nClear communication and stakeholder collaboration\n Fluent English (spoken and written)\nWhat we offer\nThe pay range for this role is 28,000 PLN -
