We are looking for an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to join our Infrastructure and DevOps organization and help ensure our products remain secure, compliant, and resilient throughout the entire software development lifecycle. \nThis is a highly hands-on engineering role focused on DevSecOps practices, cloud security, container security, and secure software delivery. You will work closely with software engineers, DevOps specialists, architects, quality teams, and regulatory experts to implement and continuously improve security controls across development, deployment, and operational environments. \nThe role operates within a Class II Medical Device environment, where cybersecurity is a critical product requirement. Practical experience applying FDA cybersecurity guidance, IEC 81001-5-1, and modern secure development practices to medical device products is highly valued. \nWhat you'll do\nDesign, implement, and maintain security controls across cloud infrastructure, applications, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment environments. \n\nLead security initiatives throughout the medical device development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with regulatory and industry security requirements. \n\nBuild and enhance DevSecOps practices by integrating security testing and validation into engineering workflows. \n\nSecure containerized workloads and Kubernetes environments through runtime protection, RBAC governance, image scanning, and secrets management. \n\nPerform threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security reviews to identify and mitigate risks. \n\nImplement security tooling and automation for continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, and compliance enforcement. \n\nPartner with engineering, DevOps, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and product teams to address cybersecurity risks and requirements. \n\nDevelop and maintain cybersecurity documentation, risk assessments, security reports, and regulatory support artifacts. \n\nDrive security best practices across engineering teams and foster a security-first mindset throughout product development. \n\nSupport compliance initiatives related to security frameworks and regulated healthcare environments. \n\nWhat we're looking for\nRequired qualifications\n5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, DevSecOps, cloud security, or related field. \n\nHands-on experience securing cloud platforms, preferably AWS, Microsoft Azure experience, also considered highly relevant. \n\nStrong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including: \n\nCryptography \n\nAuthentication and authorization \n\nNetwork security \n\nSecure communications \n\nData protection and privacy \n\nPractical experience securing: \n\nKubernetes environments \n\nContainerized applications \n\nCloud-native platforms \n\nExperience implementing security controls across CI/CD pipelines, including: \n\nSAST \n\nSCA \n\nDAST \n\nSecret scanning \n\nPipeline security controls \n\nStrong understanding of: \n\nVulnerability management \n\nSecurity architecture \n\nRisk assessment \n\nThreat modeling \n\nExperience working with at least one recognized security framework such as: \n\nSOC 2 \n\nISO 27001 \n\nNIST 800-53 \n\nHITRUST \n\nStrong verbal and written English communication skills. \n\nPreferred qualifications\nExperience with FedRAMP implementation programs. \n\nHands-on experience with medical device cybersecurity and regulated healthcare environments. \n\nPractical knowledge of: \n\nFDA Premarket Cybersecurity Guidance \n\nFDA Postmarket Cybersecurity Guidance \n\nIEC 81001-5-1 \n\nIEC 62304 \n\nISO 14971 \n\nExperience creating and maintaining Software Bills of Materials (SBOMs). \n\nWorking knowledge of threat modeling methodologies such as: \n\nSTRIDE \n\nPASTA \n\nOCTAVE \n\nStrong understanding of Android security architecture and mobile application security. \n\nTechnologies and tools\nExperience with one or more of the following technologies is highly desirable: \nWiz \n\nPrisma Cloud \n\nSnyk \n\nAqua Security \n\nFalco \n\nTrivy \n\nHashiCorp Vault \n\nCrowdStrike \n\nKubernetes \n\nDocker \n\nAzure Security Services \n\nGitHub Actions \n\nAzure DevOps \n\nTerraform \n\nNice to have\nCISSP, CISA, OSCP, CSSLP, GIAC, or similar cybersecurity certifications. \n\nExperience securing connected healthcare, IoT, or embedded systems. \n\nKnowledge of secure boot, device identity management, OTA update security, and supply chain security practices. \n\nExperience supporting cybersecurity audits, regulatory submissions, and security compliance initiatives. \n\nBackground in highly regulated industries such as healthcare, life sciences, medical devices, or digital health. \n\nWhy join HTEC?\nAt HTEC, you'll work on meaningful healthcare technologies alongside world-class engineers, architects, and product teams.
