The candidate will work on Linux-based automotive platforms and collaborate with cross-functional teams, Wi-Fi chipset vendors and hardware teams to develop and troubleshoot Wi-Fi functionality across the software stack.\n\nKey Responsibilities : \n\n- Review Wi-Fi and networking requirements and work with the requirements team to resolve issues and complete specification sign-off.\n\n- Develop high-level and detailed software designs and prepare software test plans.\n\n- Develop, integrate and maintain Wi-Fi software modules for Linux-based IVI systems.\n\n- Work with Linux networking and Wi-Fi stack components, including wpa_supplicant, Hostapd and Wi-Fi Manager.\n\n- Work with chipset vendors and internal teams to resolve Wi-Fi software and integration issues across multiple layers of the Wi-Fi stack.\n\n- Analyze Wi-Fi logs, traces and PCAP captures to identify connectivity and performance issues.\n\n- Perform root cause analysis and resolve issues related to Wi-Fi connectivity, stability, authentication, roaming and data transfer.\n\n- Support board bring-up, Wi-Fi calibration and hardware/software integration activities.\n\n- Perform static analysis and resolve software quality issues.\n\n- Develop scripts and tools to automate Wi-Fi testing and validation.\n\n- Execute development and integration testing and prepare test reports.\n\n- Create technical reports covering software development, issue resolution, testing and project status.\n\nMandatory Skills : \n\n- 5 - 10 years of experience in Wi-Fi software development.\n\n- Strong development experience with IEEE 802.11n/ac/ax standards.\n\n- Strong understanding of Wi-Fi architecture and Wi-Fi protocol stack.\n\n- Hands-on experience with Linux networking and Wi-Fi stack.\n\n- Hands-on experience with wpa_supplicant and Hostapd.\n\n- Experience with Wi-Fi Manager and connectivity management.\n\n- Strong experience analyzing Wi-Fi logs, traces and PCAP/Wireshark captures.\n\n- Good understanding of Wi-Fi security including WPA2/WPA3.\n\n- Experience troubleshooting Wi-Fi connectivity and performance issues.\n\n- Good programming experience in C/C++.\n\nPreferred Skills : \n\n- Experience in automotive or embedded Linux development.\n\n- Experience with Linux-based IVI platforms.\n\n- Experience with Wi-Fi chipset integration.\n\n- Experience with Wi-Fi AP, STA and Wi-Fi Direct.\n\n- Experience with board bring-up and hardware/software debugging.\n\n- Experience developing automated Wi-Fi test tools/scripts.\n\nEducation : \n\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related field.\nSkills\nLinux, C, C++, WIRESHARK, WiFi","description_format":"text","description_chars":2915,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":[],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-30T06:02:59Z"}],"liveness":{"score":90,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.903,"p_room":1,"age_days":1,"expected_fill_days":24,"reasons":["seen:1","velocity","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-01T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/httpswww-linkedin-comcompanyhire3-global-linux-wi-fi-development-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/httpswww-linkedin-comcompanyhire3-global-linux-wi-fi-development-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-02T01:06:16Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":1163,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":3837,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-03T00:00:00Z"}}}
