success.\nSupervisory Responsibilities: The Purchasing Manager will supervise the purchasing department including material and purchasing personnel.\nDuties/ Responsibilities:\nProcurement & Purchasing Leadership\nPlan, organize, direct, and oversee all purchasing and procurement activities for the company.\n\nDevelop and implement purchasing strategies that support business growth, operational efficiency, and profitability.\n\nEnsure the timely procurement of raw materials, packaging, supplies, equipment, and services necessary to meet production requirements.\n\nMonitor inventory levels and purchasing trends to balance material availability with inventory investment goals.\n\nEstablish and maintain purchasing policies, procedures, and best practices.\n\nEnsure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and ethical purchasing standards.\n\nSupplier Management\nIdentify, evaluate, qualify, and maintain relationships with suppliers that provide high-quality products and services at competitive costs.\n\nNegotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, rebates, freight arrangements, and service agreements.\n\nEvaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, responsiveness, pricing, and overall reliability.\n\nDevelop strategic supplier partnerships to improve supply continuity and support long-term company objectives.\n\nLead supplier review meetings and corrective action initiatives when performance concerns arise.\n\nHandle Vendor transitions as needed\n\nInventory & Materials Management\nCollaborate with production and planning teams to ensure adequate material supply while minimizing excess inventory.\n\nMonitor inventory turns, safety stock levels, lead times, and supplier performance metrics.\n\nSupport inventory control processes and periodic inventory audits.\n\nNegotiations with Roto/K&B\n\nDevelop plans to mitigate risks associated with material shortages, supply chain disruptions, and market fluctuations.\n\nContract & Purchase Order Administration\nReview, approve, and manage purchase orders, contracts, bids, proposals, and supplier agreements.\n\nEnsure purchasing documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with company requirements.\n\nInvestigate and resolve purchasing discrepancies, invoice issues, supplier claims, and contract-related matters.\n\nReview purchase requisitions and assign procurement activities as appropriate.\n\nCost Management & Continuous Improvement\nAnalyze market conditions, pricing trends, and supply chain risks to support informed purchasing decisions.\n\nIdentify cost-saving opportunities through supplier negotiations, alternative sourcing, inventory management improvements, and process enhancements.\n\nDevelop and maintain purchasing reports, KPIs, and performance metrics.\n\nRecommend and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce lead times, and strengthen purchasing controls.\n\nMake recommendations and monitor from prior sales forecasts\n\nLeadership & Team Development\nDirectly supervise Purchasing and Materials personnel.\n\nProvide coaching, training, performance management, and professional development opportunities for team members.\n\nEstablish departmental goals and performance expectations.\n\nFoster a culture of accountability, teamwork, collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.\n\nParticipate and lead process improvement initiatives and SOP creation\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nWork closely with Operations, Production, Customer Service, Sales, and Finance to support organizational objectives.\n\nParticipate in strategic planning initiatives related to purchasing, inventory, and supply chain management.\n\nSupport new product introductions by sourcing materials and evaluating supplier capabilities.\n\nAdditional Responsibilities\nParticipate in Hub Labels Operational Performance (HOP) initiatives, programs, and events.\n\nComply with all company safety policies and procedures, including the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.\n\nPerform other duties and special projects as assigned.\n\nQualifications\nRequired Skills/Abilities:\nStrong analytical and communication skills\n\nKnowledge of basic math\n\nMust be self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented.\n\nMust be able to work under pressure and meet job related deadlines.\n\nMust be willing to be a self-empowered employee, suggest process improvements & problem solutions to management.\n\nMust be willing to flex hours as needed pending work requirements.\n\nEducation & Experience:\nRequired\nHigh school diploma or GED.\n\nMinimum of five (5) years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or materials management experience.\n\nPreferred\nAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.\n\nPrevious supervisory or management experience.\n\nExperience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within printing, packaging, or label converting industries.\n\nWork Environment:\nThe work environment includes both office and manufacturing settings. The Purchasing Manager regularly interacts with production personnel, warehouse staff, suppliers, and management team members. Exposure to manufacturing equipment, moving machinery, varying temperatures, and moderate noise levels may occur when entering production or warehouse areas.\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.\n\nFrequent use of computers, phones, and office equipment.\n\nAbility to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and electronically.\n\nAbility to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.\n\nAbility to access production, warehouse, and storage areas as needed.\n\nCore Values:\nH.U.B.\nHonor.
