Whether you are in a technical role, operations, or corporate support, joining Hudbay means joining a multicultural team where your professional development is expedited by our global footprint and our commitment to excellence.\nPurpose of Role:\nReporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely execution of day-to-day payroll activities.\nRole Accountabilities:\nPayroll Processing & Administration\nExecute full-cycle regular and off-cycle payroll accurately and on schedule. \nGather, review, and input payroll data into SAP/SF, including new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, overtime, bonuses, deductions, taxable benefits, and leaves of absence. \nVerify pre-payroll calculations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve variances prior to final processing. \nPrepare and compile payroll registers, sign-off sheets, and supporting reconciliation files for Manager, Payroll review and approval. \nMaintain accurate supporting documentation for all payroll transactions, adjustments, and audit trails. \nBenefits & Pension Administration\nProcess benefits and pension enrollments for new hires within specified deadlines. \nProvide administrative support and system entry for employee life event changes. \nPerform quarterly reconciliations for pension and benefit programs to ensure data and financial alignment. \nCompliance & Year-End Activities\nIssue Records of Employment in compliance with Service Canada deadlines for leaves, medical absences, or terminations. \nSupport annual year-end payroll processes, including T4/T4A balancing, taxable benefit reconciliations, and filings. \nAssist the Manager, Payroll during internal and external payroll audit processes. \nPrepare and maintain annual Payroll Processing Calendars and scheduling timelines. \nRecords & Documentation Management\nManage the Payroll Corporate Inbox, ensuring incoming inquiries, input files, and invoices are categorized, tracked, and actioned. \nScan and digitize physical records in accordance with organizational file structures and document retention policies. \nArchive or securely dispose of physical and electronic files in compliance with statutory retention timelines and corporate policy. \nLog and track taxation and professional service invoices in the master tracking ledger. \nPerformance & Quality Standards\nEnsure all payroll procedures comply strictly with federal and provincial employment standards, tax legislation, and corporate policies. \nUphold strict confidentiality regarding all employee payroll, financial, and personal information. \nDeliver accurate payroll metrics and documentation within established processing deadlines\nQualifications:\nMinimum 2-3 years of end-to-end payroll processing.\nKnowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, statutory requirements (CRA, Revenue Québec, Service Canada), and provincial employment standards\nStrong Microsoft skills, especially Excel (Pivot lookup)\nExperience with SAP Payroll is an asset.\nHave or be pursuing certification as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) recognized by the National Payroll Institute (formerly Canadian Payroll Association) is an asset.\nOther skills:\nKnowing Spanish is an asset\nStrong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality when working with payroll and financial information.\nExcellent organizational and time management skills.\nCompensation\nAt Hudbay we pride ourselves in providing our employees with a competitive total rewards package.\nExpected Compensation: Base salary $65 - $80 CAD per year.\nThe opportunity to work out of our Platinum Class A and Platinum BOMA BEST® Certified office building in Toronto’s South Core Business District conveniently located beside the newly renovated Toronto Union Station\nThis role is eligible for flexible working arrangements, allowing you to balance remote work with time in the office.
