A camp is available for those wishing to drive-in and drive-out with meals provided, or relocation packages are available to move you and your family to the vibrant community of Snow Lake, MB. The schedule is 7 days on and 7 days off.\nAt Hudbay, the atmosphere is fast paced, dynamic and is built on trust. Leadership is focused on individuals, providing mentoring and coaching to facilitate employees reaching their full potential.\nKey Responsibilities:\n1. Infrastructure Support\nAdminister and oversee the operations of the physical and logical infrastructure within MBU data centers.\nMaintain an IT system update program that addresses identified risks and business security requirements for operating systems and infrastructure.\nAdminister the process of gathering, analyzing and assessing the current and future infrastructure landscape, as well as provide a realistic overview of infrastructure health in the business unit environment.\nDevelop budget projections based on short- and long-term goals and objectives.\nMonitor and report on compliance with IT policies, as well as the enforcement of policies within the organization.\nWorks with business operations teams to ensure good coordination of IT changes without impacting business processes.\nPropose changes to existing policies and procedures to ensure operating efficiency and regulatory compliance.\nProvides oversight for the operations and support of IT systems that fulfill the needs of the business, and provides input to the Manager Shared Services Infrastructure as well as to peer direct reports responsible for other aspects of Infrastructure and Operations (I&O).\n2. Architecture/Engineering Support\nConsult with IT and business stakeholders and security staff to ensure that infrastructure impacts are factored into the evaluation, selection, installation and configuration of hardware, applications and software.\nResearch, evaluate, design, test, recommend or plan the implementation of new or updated hardware or software, and analyze its impact on the existing environment; provide technical and administrative expertise for the administration of network and infrastructure tools.\nDevelop and implement infrastructure controls and configurations aligned with security policies and legal, regulatory and audit requirements.\n3. Operational Support\nMaintain a knowledge base comprising a technical reference library, service catalog and disaster recovery manual.\nManage infrastructure projects and provide expert guidance on infrastructure matters for other IT projects.\nAdminister and review audit trails, IT system logs and other monitoring data sources periodically and ensuring that they are in compliance with policies and audit requirements.\nPerform security testing procedures with Security team to verify the security of IT systems, networks and applications, and manage the remediation of identified risks.\n4. End User Support\nWalk business users and peers through problem solving process.\nFollow up with customers, provide feedback and see problems through to resolution.\nEnsure proper recording, documentation and closure on incidents/changes.\nAct as the top tier of support function and escalate to third party service providers where applicable and appropriate.\nMaintain the currently high levels of IT user satisfaction from MBU Hudbay employees.\nQualifications & Competencies:\nEducation and Experience:\nA degree or diploma in computer science or a related discipline is required.\nCandidates should have 5 or more years of experience in Information Technology, with a focus on Virtualization, SAN, LANs, server and network hardware, and software support.\nSpecific experience with VMware ESXi Enterprise or higher an asset.\nSkills and Knowledge:\nExperience with performance troubleshooting and monitoring.\nProject management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time without negative consequences.\nProblem-solving skills and the ability to enhance the efficiency of an organization's IT infrastructure.\nPreferred experience with ITIL practices for incident/problem/change management.\nCollaboration skills for working with teams and employees across multiple locations.\nFlexibility in terms of working hours and participation in an on-call rotation schedule.\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service focus.\nAnalytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis, critical thinking, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency in resolving critical issues.\nAdaptability to rapidly changing technology environments.\nAbility to prepare written policies, procedures, and technical documents.\nHigh accountability and a commitment to corporate compliance and security.\nDesirable Technical Skills:\nVirtual Desktop Infrastructure.\nMicrosoft Active Directory.\nInformation access control and configuration management tools.\nNetwork and server implementation.\nVMware virtualization products and storage technologies.\nWindows server systems (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Web server, SQL server, etc.).\nAdvanced networking (network routing/switching) and IT security (firewalls, ACLs, etc.).\nCloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.\nIdentity and Access Management (IAM) like OKTA.\nEmail and Collaboration tools.\nNetwork storage systems.\nFirewall management.\nCitrix DaaS.\nLinux administration.\nData replication and backup systems.\nHybrid cloud network virtual applications, including firewalls, load balancers, and caching/optimization tools configure and maintain computer systems and applications.\nJob Types: Full-time, Permanent\nPay: $99,093.00 - $110,104.00 per year\nAdditional pay:\nOvertime pay\nBenefits:\nCasual dress\nCompany events\nCompany pension\nDental care\nDisability insurance\nEmployee assistance program\nEmployee stock purchase plan\nExtended health care\nLife insurance\nOn-site parking\nPaid time off\nProfit sharing\nRelocation assistance\nTuition reimbursement\nVision care\nWellness program\nWork Location: In person\nHudbay Minerals Inc., Manitoba Business Unit (MBU) is committed to fostering an\ninclusive workplace where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.\nand encourages applicants of all experience and ability levels to apply.
