The ideal candidate will have practical experience with electronic security systems, installation, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical project execution.\nA key responsibility is to obtain the required qualifications to serve as a designated qualifying individual for low-voltage alarm contractor licensing in multiple states. Candidates are not required to hold all licenses at the time of hire but must be willing and able to obtain the necessary licenses within an agreed timeframe.\nThe position is remote when not traveling. Candidates residing near a major airport are preferred, with preference given to those based in the Central Time Zone, followed by the Eastern Time Zone.\nPosition Type: Full-Time\nLocation: Remote (U.S.-Based; Nationwide Travel Required)\nTravel: Approximately 2 trips per month\nIndustry: Electronic Security / Low Voltage\nKey Responsibilities\nProject and Account Management\nManage medium and large-scale electronic security projects from internal handoff through installation, commissioning, customer acceptance, and project closeout.\n\nServe as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts, managing project updates, expectations, escalations, and follow-through.\n\nCoordinate with customers, field technicians, subcontractors, vendors, manufacturers, procurement, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.\n\nDevelop and maintain project schedules, labor plans, material requirements, budgets, milestones, and documentation.\n\nMonitor project costs, labor utilization, profitability, risks, and scope changes.\n\nManage approximately 40-50 concurrent projects or an annual project invoicing portfolio of approximately $1.5 million-$2.5 million.\n\nBuild strong customer relationships and identify opportunities to support account growth.\n\nTechnical Leadership and Field Support\nProvide technical direction to technicians and subcontractors during installation, programming, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, inspections, and system handover.\n\nGuide field technicians remotely using video calls, photographs, drawings, and annotated plans.\n\nReview floor plans, security drawings, riser diagrams, wiring schematics, shop drawings, equipment schedules, network diagrams, and technical specifications.\n\nProvide technical guidance on access control systems, locking hardware, relays, request-to-exit devices, power supplies, video surveillance, intrusion detection, networking, and system integrations.\n\nConduct site surveys, inspections, quality reviews, customer meetings, and final acceptance activities as required.\n\nCoordinate with manufacturers and technical support teams to resolve complex technical issues.\n\nCollaborate with estimators to review project estimates, system designs, equipment selections, labor requirements, drawings, and engineering considerations.\n\nVerify that installations meet project scope, customer requirements, manufacturer specifications, applicable codes, and field conditions.\n\nLicensing and Compliance\nWork toward obtaining and maintaining the qualifications required to serve as a designated Qualifying Agent for low-voltage alarm contractor licenses across multiple states.\n\nPrioritize licensing in California, Oklahoma, and Tennessee, with the expectation of obtaining approximately 3-4 state licenses during the first 12 months.\n\nComplete required examinations, applications, registrations, and other licensing requirements within agreed timelines.\n\nMaintain compliance with applicable state licensing regulations and qualifying-individual requirements.\n\nWork with the company to support licensing documentation, renewals, continuing education, and related compliance activities.\n\nLicenses are not required on day one. The licensing process may take approximately 6-8 months for the first state license, depending on state requirements.\n\nTravel and Field Coordination\nTravel nationwide for site surveys, inspections, customer meetings, commissioning, project support, and technician leadership.\n\nPlan for approximately two trips per month, with travel frequency varying according to project activity and customer requirements.\n\nSupport multi-state project programs while maintaining effective remote project management and customer communication.\n\nBe comfortable with recurring domestic travel and coordinating field activities across multiple locations.\n\nRequirements\nRequired Qualifications\nMinimum 5 years of hands-on experience in electronic security, low-voltage integration, installation, service, commissioning, field supervision, systems engineering, or technical project management.\n\nWillingness and ability to obtain the state qualifications necessary to serve as a Qualifying Agent for low-voltage alarm contractor licenses.\n\nPractical experience with electronic security system programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and integration.\n\nStrong knowledge of access control, CCTV/video surveillance, intrusion detection, intercom systems, structured cabling, networking, power distribution, and battery backup systems.\n\nDemonstrated ability to lead technicians and subcontractors through complex installations and resolve technical issues both remotely and on-site.\n\nAbility to read and interpret construction documents, wiring schematics, riser diagrams, device layouts, network diagrams, and technical specifications.\n\nProven customer-facing project or account management experience, including stakeholder communication, escalations, expectation management, and relationship development.\n\nExperience managing multiple concurrent projects, schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and distributed field teams.\n\nAbility to contribute to technical estimating, equipment selection, system planning, and engineering reviews.\n\nExcellent communication, organization, documentation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.\n\nWillingness and ability to travel nationwide approximately twice per month.\n\nPreferably located near a major airport in the Central Time Zone; Eastern Time Zone candidates will also be considered.\n\nPreferred Technical Experience\nExperience with several of the following platforms or comparable technologies is preferred:\nPotter\n\nBosch\n\nBrivo\n\nAvigilon\n\nAxis Communications\n\nHoneywell\n\nLenelS2 OnGuard\n\nGenetec Security Center\n\nSoftware House C\nCURE\n\nGallagher\n\nVerkada\n\nMilestone\n\nDMP\n\nDSC\n\nNAPCO\n\nFire-Lite\n\nSilent Knight\n\nSimplex\n\nExperience with Potter and Bosch is particularly relevant.\n\nPerformance Expectations\nFirst 90 days: Take ownership of day-to-day project execution, schedules, communication, and technical coordination.\n\nFirst 6 months: Become the primary project manager for assigned customer accounts and develop a strong understanding of customer needs and expectations.\n\nFirst 12 months: Establish strong customer relationships, consistently deliver successful projects, support account growth, and work toward obtaining approximately 3-4 state licenses.\n\nEqual Opportunity\nWe are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants.
