This role oversees key accounting activities, including general ledger management, reconciliations, financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, and other financial processes. The Senior Accountant plays an important role in ensuring the integrity of financial data and supporting the organization’s financial planning, reporting, and compliance needs.\nDuties/Responsibilities:\nPerforms general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.\nPrepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.\nMaintains the general ledger.\nCodes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.\nReconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.\nReconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages prepaid accounts and prepaid account amortization.\nVerifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.\nProvides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.\nFiles tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.\nCoordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.\nCalculates and reconciles commission liability and payments.\nCalculates and reconciles royalty liability and payments.\nManages and reconciles sales tax liability.
