This role leads a team of testers while establishing scalable testing processes, standards, and automation capabilities across functional, regression, integration, configuration, and production validation testing.This role exercises independent judgment on complex issues, escalates barriers and risks as appropriate, and communicates testing progress and quality considerations to management and executive stakeholders.\nKey Responsibilities\nTeam Leadership & Delivery\nLead a team of testers by establishing priorities, responsibilities, and accountability for testing deliverables. \nCoach and develop team members while promoting collaboration, cross-training, knowledge sharing, and consistent testing practices. \nSupport hiring, onboarding, and training of testing team members. \nManage team capacity and testing assignments based on business priorities, release schedules, complexity, and risk. \nCoordinate testing coverage for scheduled production releases, including applicable night or early-morning testing. \nQuality Engineering & Testing\nDefine and maintain the testing strategy for the Medicaid Clinical platform. \nLead functional, regression, integration, configuration, end-to-end, and production validation testing. \nEstablish standards for test cases, test scenarios, test data, execution, and supporting evidence. \nReview business and functional requirements to identify testing needs, risks, and gaps. \nDevelop and maintain automated test suites and expand automation opportunities to improve testing efficiency, scalability, and coverage. \nEvaluate test results, defects, and risks to provide release-readiness recommendations. \nDefect Management & Collaboration\nLead defect triage and establish standards for documenting, prioritizing, retesting, and resolving defects. \nPartner with Product, Business Systems Analysis, developers, vendors, and clinical stakeholders to investigate and resolve quality issues. \nServe as a liaison for new testing requests, assessing scope, priorities, dependencies, and resource needs. \nCommunicate testing progress, quality risks, unresolved defects, and release readiness to stakeholders and leadership. \nContinuous Improvement\nMonitor test coverage, execution progress, defect trends, and automation effectiveness. \nAnalyze recurring defects and testing gaps to identify opportunities for process and quality improvements. \nDevelop repeatable testing processes that improve consistency, efficiency, and scalability. \nRecommend improvements to workflows, configurations, requirements, and testing procedures based on testing findings.\nUse your skills to make an impact\nRequired Qualifications\n5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, quality engineering, application testing, or a related technology field.\n2 - 3 years' experience creating, reviewing, executing, and validating test cases and test scenarios.\nHands-on experience developing and maintaining automated test suites.\nExperience with defect identification, documentation, triage, retesting, and resolution.\nExperience working in an Agile delivery environment.\nExperience leading functional, regression, integration, and configuration testing.\nAbility to manage competing priorities, establish scalable processes, and exercise independent judgment with minimal supervision.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience directly leading a testing or quality engineering team, including coaching, work allocation, capacity planning, and team development.\nExperience supporting Medicaid programs or Medicaid clinical operations.\nExperience with utilization management, care management, or other healthcare clinical workflows.\nExperience testing vendor SaaS platforms, configurations, releases, and integrations.\nExperience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar test management and defect-tracking tools.\nExperience developing or expanding automated regression testing.\nExperience partnering with external vendors and internal technology teams to coordinate testing and production releases.\nAdditional Information:\nAbility to work periodic nights or early mornings to support production releases and testing.
