Experience with Python/PySpark, healthcare data, and AI/ML development in Databricks is preferred.\nThe Senior Business Intelligence Engineer develops and supports the tools, datasets, pipelines, reports, dashboards, applications, and automated workflows used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present data for actionable business insights.\nThis role will maintain and enhance reporting capabilities, support recurring and ad hoc business needs, and contribute to Databricks modernization and emerging AI/ML initiatives.\nThe Senior Business Intelligence Engineer will:\nMaintain and enhance data pipelines, reporting datasets, dashboard refresh processes, and recurring analytics assets.\nPartner with business and technical stakeholders to understand needs and translate ambiguous requests into scalable data, reporting, application, and workflow automation solutions.\nResearch source systems, data definitions, ownership, and lineage to support intake requests and solution development.\nWrite complex SQL queries to extract, transform, summarize, and analyze data.\nBuild and maintain dashboards, paginated reports, and analytical products using Power BI, Power BI Desktop, and Power BI Report Builder.\nDevelop and support PowerApps solutions that improve business workflows and user access to insights.\nDevelop and support Power Automate flows to streamline business processes, notifications, approvals, and reporting-related automation.\nBuild and support data engineering solutions in Databricks, including pipelines, transformations, workflows, and automation.\nSupport modernization efforts as data processes continue to expand within Databricks.\nContribute to emerging AI/ML and generative AI use cases, including solutions leveraging structured and unstructured data.\nUse sound judgment to determine technical approach and deliver solutions with limited direction.\nUse your skills to make an impact\nRequired Qualifications\nUndergraduate degree\nMinimum 5 years of SQL experience, including writing complex queries to extract, transform, summarize, and analyze data from multiple sources\nMinimum 2 years of experience utilizing Databricks data engineering, including building and maintaining pipelines, workflows, and data transformation processes\nExperience developing dashboards, semantic models, and paginated reports using Power BI, Power BI Desktop, and Power BI Report Builder or similar BI tools\nExperience building or supporting solutions in PowerApps\nExperience building or supporting workflow automation solutions using Power Automate\nDemonstrated analytical experience, including the ability to work through ambiguous business requests, perform data discovery, and develop actionable solutions\nStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders\nWork-At-Home Requirements\nAt minimum, a download speed of 25 mbps and an upload speed of 10 mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested\nSatellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership\nAssociates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.\nHumana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.\nWork from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information\nPreferred Qualifications\nAdvanced degree\nExperience with Python and/or PySpark for data engineering, analytics, automation, or AI/ML use cases.\nExposure to AI/ML, generative AI, or retrieval-augmented generation solutions, preferably in Databricks.\nExperience with healthcare data, including familiarity with claims-related or operational data.\nExperience creating and maintaining automated ETL/ELT processes and recurring reporting datasets.\nExperience supporting data platform modernization, migration, or lakehouse-based analytics initiatives.\nAdditional Information\nAs part of our hiring process for this opportunity, we may contact you via text message and email to gather more information using a software platform called HireVue.
