This role is responsible for analyzing infrastructure consumption, technology assets, financial data, and operational metrics to identify opportunities for cost optimization, rationalization, and improved technology investment decisions.\nThe ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with foundational knowledge of IT infrastructure, including compute, storage, cloud, network, and data center technologies. Working closely with infrastructure engineering, architecture, finance, procurement, vendor management, and service owners, the Technical Cost Analyst will transform complex technology and financial data into actionable insights, business cases, and recommendations that support cost efficiency and strategic technology decisions.\nThis position is well suited for professionals with 1-5 years of experience in infrastructure operations, FinOps, technical analytics, technical asset management or related disciplines.\nKey Responsibilities\nInfrastructure Cost Analysis\nAnalyze infrastructure environments including storage, compute, network, cloud, backup, and platform services to identify cost reduction and optimization opportunities.\nEvaluate technology consumption, utilization, capacity, and growth trends using operational and financial datasets.\nDevelop insights around asset utilization, underused resources, redundant technologies, and consolidation opportunities.\nSupport infrastructure demand forecasting and cost modeling activities.\nData Analysis & Cost Transparency\nConsolidate and analyze data from multiple sources, including:\nCMDB platforms\nInfrastructure monitoring tools\nCloud and platform usage reports\nPurchase orders\nVendor contracts\nInvoice data\nAsset inventories\nFinancial systems\nArchitecture and engineering documentation\nPerform data validation, reconciliation, and trend analysis to ensure accuracy and consistency across sources.\nCreate dashboards, reports, and analytical models to support technology cost transparency initiatives.\nBusiness Case Development\nDevelop financial and technical business cases supporting infrastructure optimization initiatives.\nBuild hypotheses regarding cost reduction, consumption efficiency, technology modernization, and rationalization opportunities.\nQuantify potential savings, cost avoidance, investment requirements, and operational impacts.\nTranslate complex data findings into clear, concise, communications for diverse audiences\nPartner with infrastructure engineers, architects, service owners, procurement teams, and finance partners to understand technology environments and validate assumptions.\nIdentify opportunities to improve cost management processes, reporting capabilities, and data quality.\nContribute to automation and standardization of reporting, analytics, and business case development processes.\nKey Responsibilities:\nData Analysis & Insights\nHas ownership, maintenance, and collection responsibility for data assets in the functional production support process\nCollect, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources using tools like SQL, Excel, Python, or Tableau\nIdentify patterns, trends, and correlations to support descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics\nTechnical Communications\nAssist with creation of branding, communication, and training materials\nTranslate complex data findings into clear, concise, communications for diverse audiences\nDevelop and maintain digital asset libraries (e.g., multimedia content, documents) for easy retrieval and reuse\nSkills & Qualifications:\nAnalytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools (SQL, Excel, Python, Tableau), statistical methods, and visualization software.\nTechnical Skills: Demonstrated familiarity with AI concepts and how they are applied in an organization, such as but not limited to:\nProgramming (Python mainly)NumPy, Pandas, SciPyClean code, debugging, version control (Git)\nMachine Learning BasicsSupervised & unsupervised learningRegression, classification, clusteringModel evaluation (accuracy, precision, recall, etc.)\nData Handling & PreprocessingData cleaning, transformationFeature engineeringWorking with structured + unstructured data\nFamiliarity with Technology Business Management (TBM), Apptio, or IT Finance helpful, but not required\nCommunication Skills: Strong written, verbal, and visual communication, ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
