We’re bringing that mission to life with HMND-01 - our rapidly developed humanoid platform being deployed in real industrial environments - and we’re growing the team to take it even further.\nAbout the Role\nHumanoid is looking for a hands-on Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to own the continued development, deployment and operation of the existing data platform within Humanoid. The role spans cloud infrastructure, full-stack development, platform engineering and data engineering, with responsibility for turning internal engineering requirements into reliable production systems.\nYou will also lead delivery by external contractors and act as their sole point of contact with Humanoid. You will gather requirements from our internal engineering teams, translate them into technical briefs, oversee implementation and bring completed work back for validation. All contractor questions, feedback and delivery coordination will flow through you, without requiring direct communication between contractors and other Humanoid team members.\nThis role combines substantial engineering work with technical leadership and delivery ownership.\nWhat You'll Do\nOwn platform delivery: Understand the existing platform architecture, identify the changes needed for Humanoid’s environment and workflows, and take those changes through development, integration, testing and deployment.\n\nLead external contractors: Define work packages, priorities, technical requirements and acceptance criteria. Review designs and code, resolve technical questions, track delivery and ensure completed work meets Humanoid’s standards.\n\nConnect internal needs to implementation: Work with Humanoid’s engineering teams to understand requirements and constraints. Maintain a clear backlog, communicate tradeoffs and progress, and raise risks or decisions early.\n\nBuild and operate cloud infrastructure: Manage compute, storage, networking and environments through infrastructure as code, with attention to security, reliability, performance and cost.\n\nDevelop across the stack: Implement and maintain backend services, APIs, integrations and frontend interfaces that support internal users and engineering workflows.\n\nImprove the engineering platform: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, deployment processes, environment configuration and developer tooling.\n\nOwn data workflows: Develop and maintain data ingestion, processing, storage and access pipelines. Address data quality, schema changes, failed jobs and recovery.\n\nMaintain production reliability: Establish monitoring, logging and alerting; investigate incidents; and maintain practical rollback, backup and recovery procedures.\n\nControl access and preserve knowledge: Manage contractor permissions and secrets appropriately. Ensure source code, infrastructure definitions, documentation and operational knowledge remain accessible to Humanoid.\n\nVerify and hand over completed work. Validate contractor deliverables against agreed acceptance criteria and ensure releases include the documentation and support needed for ongoing operation.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nExperience building, deploying and operating production software on a major cloud platform.\n\nStrong practical knowledge of infrastructure as code, containers, Linux, networking, identity and access management, and CI/CD.\n\nSolid software engineering skills, including backend services, APIs, databases and the ability to work across frontend and backend code.\n\nExperience with data pipelines, object storage, relational databases and reliable processing of large datasets.\n\nEvidence of taking ownership of an existing platform: understanding unfamiliar code, diagnosing problems and delivering improvements safely.\n\nExperience leading external developers or contractors, including scoping work, reviewing implementation and holding delivery to clear quality standards.\n\nClear written and verbal communication, with the ability to turn incomplete requirements into actionable technical work.\n\nSound judgment about what to build directly, what to delegate and when to involve internal engineering specialists.\n\nExperience with robotics, machine learning infrastructure, sensor data or internal data platforms would be valuable. We welcome engineers with particular depth in infrastructure or platform engineering who can demonstrate effective delivery across the wider software stack.\nWhat success looks like?\nThe data platform is deployed reliably within Humanoid and develops in line with internal engineering needs.
