Our award-winning office products - seating, sit/stand desks, technology support and lighting - have led the industry in performance and simplicity for over 40 years.\nOverview\nThe Customs Compliance Specialist will be responsible for supporting and maintaining customs and international trade compliance across the Company’s North America operation. This role ensures compliance with applicable import and export regulations, customs requirements and supply chain security programs including CTPAT. Key responsibilities include customs documentation and entry review, validating HTS classification and origin data, trade agreement compliance, and execution of related processes/procedures that ensure Humanscale complies with all customs regulations while exercising the highest standard of reasonable care. This is a fast-paced, high-volume environment.\nResponsibilities\nCoordinate with customs broker to resolve questions and provide information at the time of port arrival, including, but not limited to: HTS, FTA eligibility, valuation verification, Tariff assessments, and AD/CVD applicability.\nPerform daily audits of Customs Entries.\nCompile specific documentation for the purpose of drawback claims.\nCreate weekly reports on product movement through US, Canadian and Mexican borders.\nCreate recurring reports on US, Canadian and Mexican Customs spend.\nContribute ideas and suggestions to improve processes.\nMaintain department records/files as required.\nSupport the CTPAT committee’s initiatives to ensure continued compliance.\nProvide Planners and Management with applicable HTS and corresponding duty rates prior to import.\nSupport and assist with any departmental need in or outside the company, i.e., Customs, broker, planners, management, etc.\nAdditional duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree preferred; Associate’s degree required.\n1-3 years of experience required in data analysis and Customs related functions.\nKnowledge and understanding of U.S. Customs import, as well as Canadian and Mexican customs processes.\nAttention to detail with precision in reporting.\nExcellent verbal, written, and communication skills.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.\nExcellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills with the ability to disseminate significant amounts of information.\nAbility to exercise independent judgment.\nAbility to prioritize workload and multitask.\nStrong problem-solving skills including root cause identification.\nPossesses/develops knowledge regarding products, procedures, and policies; understands critical issues affecting the organization.\nAbility to balance team and individual responsibilities; provides and welcomes feedback\nHigh focus on confidentiality.\nExcellent follow-through skills.\nCOMPUTER SKILLS\nProficiency in MS Office particularly in Excel and math to estimate numerical data\nWHAT WE OFFER\nCompetitive salary\nMedical Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision)\nHSA, FSA, Commuter Benefits\nMedical Discounts\nAncillary Benefits\nAccident, Critical Illness, Hospital Insurance\nVoluntary, Spouse, and Child Life Insurance\nPet Insurance\nEmployee Discount Programs\n401k matching\nPaid time off (including 15 PTO days and 11 holidays)\nHumanscale is an Equal Opportunity Employer (Disabled/Veteran)\nSalary Range: $58,769-$85,721\nPlease note that the salary information is a general guideline.
