Our award-winning office products - seating, sit/stand desks, technology support and lighting - have led the industry in performance and simplicity for over 40 years.\nThis role will operate under Advanced Die Casting, LLC as a whole-owned subsidiary of Humanscale.\nOverview\nThe Die Casting Process Engineer is responsible for leading and supporting die casting and furnace operations, including oversight of die casting technicians and furnace staff. This role directs, supervises, and continuously improves die casting processes through Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to support product quality, operational efficiency, and on-time delivery. Key responsibilities include defining injection parameters, developing work instructions and process documentation, training production staff, optimizing machine performance, supporting new projects, managing peripheral inventory, and driving automation and continuous improvement initiatives across the die casting area.\nResponsibilities\nLead die casting technicians and furnace staff to support safe, efficient daily operations including management of furnaces.\nDevelop and maintain work instructions for die casting and furnace operations.\nEstablish and maintain process parameter sheets for die casting and furnace equipment.\nCreate and deliver training for die casting and furnace personnel.\nDrive process improvements related to controls, SPC, data collection, efficiency, downtime reduction, new projects, and setup reduction.\nCreate and maintain AIAG Core Tools documentation, including process flow diagrams, FMEA, control plans, SPC, and PPAP documentation.\nManage inventory control for die casting and furnace machine peripherals.\nSupport development projects, DFM reviews, validation activities, process flow updates, and tooling improvements to enhance performance and tool life.\nTrain new team members across varying skill levels and operational responsibilities.\nAnalyze opportunities and implement improvements that advance automation within the die casting area.\nDefine and optimize injection parameters to support quality, efficiency, and repeatability.\nPlan and monitor new projects involving facilities, DCM machines, molds, and furnaces.\nCollaborate with customers, suppliers, and production teams to identify projects that improve key performance indicators.\nLead and participate in Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen process improvement initiatives.\nAnalyze die casting productivity, rejects, downtime, and machine efficiency data.\nOptimize die casting processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and throughput.\nProvide production support to resolve technical issues and drive continuous process improvement.\nDevelop and maintain standard operating procedures for die casting and furnace processes.\nPerform failure analysis and implement corrective actions to improve quality and efficiency.\nParticipate in the design and development of new die casting products and processes.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nIndustrial Engineering or related degree and/or related experience.\n5 years minimum experience in die casting process.\nProficiency in CAD, CMM, and SOLID preferred.\nSix Sigma Certification: Certified Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.\nExperience with AIAG Core Tools: APQP, Process Flow Diagrams, FMEA (or AMEF), Control Plans, SPC, and PPAP preferred.\nAbility to prioritize and stay organized.\nCapable of balancing team and individual responsibilities; able to foster a strong team environment. \nDrives strategic alignment across departments to achieve business goals.\nCustomer focused; adept at managing difficult situations; strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to build credibility within an organization and with customers.\nStrong problem-solving skills including root cause identification and continuous improvement. \nPossesses/develops knowledge regarding products, procedures, and policies.
