Our award-winning office products - seating, sit/stand desks, technology support and lighting - have led the industry in performance and simplicity for over 40 years.\nThis role will operate under Advanced Die Casting, LLC as a whole-owned subsidiary of Humanscale.\nOverview\nThe Die Casting Tool Room Technician prepares, maintains, and repairs production molds according to daily schedules and production plans. Key duties include cleaning molds, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting active mold issues, and supporting set-up technicians during mold changes. Additional responsibilities involve tracking quality and safety data, participating in continuous improvement events, and maintaining 5S workplace organization standards.\nResponsibilities\nReview and validate daily production plans to ensure readiness and alignment with operational requirements.\nPrepare mold components in advance to support timely assembly and production needs.\nPerform and document preventive maintenance activities on molds.\nInspect, verify, and analyze reported mold issues during production and after each run.\nIdentify and recommend mold improvements based on production-reported issues.\nSupport resolution of quality issues within the molding area.\nParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives within the molding area.\nAssist set-up technicians with mold assembly, changeovers, and production start-up.\nDocument quality issues related to mold malfunctions and support corrective actions.\nActively participate in improvement events and process enhancement initiatives.\nFollow and reinforce safety, discipline, and area-specific policies.\nParticipate in management programs related to incentives, improvement events, safety, quality, and productivity.\nImplement 5S practices and support waste reduction initiatives.\nDemonstrate a sense of urgency and communicate effectively with coworkers.\nQualifications\nIndustrial Engineering or related degree and/or related experience.\nBilingual: English/Spanish required. \nMust have at least 5 years minimum experience in the die casting process.\nSix Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt certification preferred.\nExperience with manufacturing, repair, adjustment, and improvement of fixtures, injection molds, tooling, and dies.\nExperience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on injection molds, extrusion tools, blow molding equipment, die cast tools, dies, fixtures, and workstations.\nAbility to safely operate manual machine tools.\nTIG welding experience to support tooling and repair activities.\nBasic experience with SolidWorks design, CAD, CAM, EDM, and wire EDM preferred.\nAnalytical capability.\nAbility to manage resources efficiently. \nKnowledge of AIAG Core Tools, including APQP, process flow diagrams, FMEA/AMEF, control plans, SPC, and PPAP preferred.\nBasic knowledge of maintenance.\nKnowledge of TIG Welding, crane and lathe handling and milling machine operation.\nInterpretation of drawings.\nProficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks\nAssistance and punctuality - must be reliable and punctual.\nAbility to prioritize and stay organized.\nCapable of balancing team and individual responsibilities; able to foster a strong team environment. \nCustomer focused; adept at managing difficult situations; strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to build credibility within an organization and with customers. \nStrong problem-solving skills including root cause identification and continuous improvement. \nPossesses/develops knowledge regarding products, procedures, and policies.
