This role manages engineering changes, contributes to early-stage product development to ensure manufacturability, creates and reviews assembly and specification drawings, maintains product data and bills of material, and determines the parts and tooling needed to meet production goals. Working closely with manufacturing teams, customers, vendors, and suppliers, the Product Engineer I troubleshoots production issues, supports equipment and process qualification and validation, develops customized solutions, identifies cost-saving and reliability improvements, and delivers projects on time and within budget.\nResponsibilities\n•Manage engineering changes for new and existing products; communicate changes to all levels of manufacturing teams as well as suppliers accordingly.\nEnsure the manufacturability of new and existing products by participating in the product design and stage gate development process in the early stages of product development.\nIdentify and implement programs to improve the manufacturability and reliability of products.\nSupport production lines to minimize or eliminate downtime.\nProvide support for the maintenance of items and Bills of Material (BOM) in MRP system.\nCreate and review assembly drawings for existing and new products.\nDetermine parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.\nPrepare and maintain parts guide for your product line to provide technical support for customers, sales, customer service and Humanscale field technicians for new and existing products.\nIdentify opportunities for cost reductions and coordinate initiatives to achieve savings in a timely manner.\nPlan and accomplish projects & goals on time and within budget.\nSupport the installation, qualification, verification, and validation of new and existing equipment and processes.\nCoordinate with vendors and suppliers regarding technical specifications and alternatives, including the procurement of material and components.\nGenerate specification control drawings as a means of communication with vendors and suppliers.\nResolve technical, procedural and logistical problems in manufacturing by using proper troubleshooting and failure analysis techniques.\nDesign customized prototypes and final functional units to satisfy customer Special Order Requests (SOR).\nAny other duties as assigned. \nQualifications\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.\n0 to 2 years of engineering experience, including relevant internships, co-ops, or hands-on academic product development projects.\nInternship experience working in an Engineering capacity at a manufacturing facility. \nKnowledge of engineering principles, practices and techniques commonly employed in the design and production of products.\nExcellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills. \nExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate engineering concepts to non-engineers.\nUnderstanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts, techniques and tools. \nUnderstanding of and experience working with machines & mechanical systems.\nMust be able to work in a team environment, helping others when necessary.\nBilingual in Spanish and English preferred.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS \nAbility to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.\nMust be able to do repetitive bending and stretching.\nAbility to lift 60 pounds.\nAbility to be onsite 5 days a week. \nAbility to move about the Production floor frequently and occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.\nAbility to use hands to operate tools, install, adjust and attach parts.\nVisual acuity for tasks that require attention to detail, such as operating machinery or performing quality control. \nCOMPUTER SKILLS \nGood understanding of GD&T for assembly and part drawings \nExperience in using 3D CAD modeling software (i.e., Solidworks) \nExperience with MRP systems such as INFOR is preferred \nStrong MSOffice and other computer skills \nWHAT WE OFFER \nCompetitive salary\nMedical Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision)\nHSA, FSA, Commuter Benefits\nMedical Discounts\nAncillary Benefits\nAccident, Critical Illness, Hospital Insurance\nVoluntary, Spouse, and Child Life Insurance\nPet Insurance\nEmployee Discount Programs\n401k matching\nPaid time off (including 15 PTO days and 11 holidays)\nSalary Range: $71,434 - $104,194\nPlease note that the salary information is a general guideline.
