You’ll build and maintain our test benches, debug electrical issues across the fleet, and help bring up new hardware alongside our engineering teams and suppliers.\nThe person who fills this role would primarily work from Humble Robotics’ San Francisco office 5 days a week. We aim to create an in office environment that fosters a collaborative, generative atmosphere where the team can build together. \nWhat You'll Do\nBuild and maintain test benches for system integration and new hardware bring-up, keeping wiring, configuration, documentation, and change logs up to date\n\nBring up new hardware and troubleshoot electrical issues on the bench and across the vehicle fleet, from first power-on through testing and validation\n\nWrite scripts and small tools in Python or other languages to test, troubleshoot, and automate bench and vehicle checks\n\nWork closely with our engineering teams and supplier companies on hardware development and troubleshooting, and help put engineering changes into practice\n\nBuild, test, and repair low-voltage and high-voltage harnesses and electrical boards as needed (including hi-pot testing), and support their design and design for manufacturing (DFM)\n\nFollow high-voltage and lockout/tagout safety practices and help keep the lab and garage organized\n\nWhat You Bring\nBS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or related field; 0-2 years relevant experience (including internships, projects, and student teams such as Formula SAE or robotics)\n\nHands-on electrical skills: using a DMM, oscilloscope, and bench power supply; reading schematics and wiring diagrams; crimping and soldering\n\nBasic understanding of 12/24V and high-voltage systems and CAN bus\n\nBasic programming skills in Python or other languages\n\nComfortable working on vehicles, in the lab, and in the field, including lifting up to 50 lb; willing to be trained for high-voltage work\n\nClear communication and attention to detail\n\nEligible to work in the United States\n\nBonus Points\nExperience with high-voltage systems or battery packs\n\nExperience building, testing, or designing harnesses or electrical boards (e.g., hi-pot testing, harness CAD, design for manufacturing)\n\nExperience using code to automate tests or analyze test data\n\nFamiliarity with CAN tools (PCAN, SavvyCAN), Linux, and the command line\n\nOur space is a fast-moving field, and we don't expect any one candidate to tick every box above.
