At humm group, we enable and empower our people to build lifetime relationships of value and opportunity for the benefit of you, our colleagues, customers and shareholders.\nAbout the Team\nYou will join a collaborative Data Platform team led by the Data Platform Lead, comprising five Data Engineers and a DBA supporting both operational and strategic initiatives across the organisation's data landscape.\nAbout the Role\nThis is a hands-on Data Engineering role with a dual focus: supporting our existing data platforms across Australia and New Zealand while contributing to the build-out of our modern data platform.\nAs part of the Data Engineering team, you will help maintain reliable day-to-day data operations, monitor critical workloads, troubleshoot production issues and improve existing data pipelines. In parallel, you will contribute to building new pipelines, data products and capabilities on the modern data platform and support the progressive transition from existing platforms.\nWhat Does An Average Day Look Like?\nIn this dynamic business, there is no ‘average’ day at humm group! To summarise though, you will:\nData Platform Operations & Support\nProvide day-to-day operational support for existing data platforms and critical data services across AU and NZ. \nMonitor data pipelines and scheduled workloads, investigate failures and data issues, and support timely incident resolution. \nMaintain and enhance existing data pipelines to improve reliability, performance and operational stability. \nSupport production deployments, testing, monitoring and troubleshooting activities. \nWork collaboratively with the Data Engineering team and business stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain business continuity. \nWorking hours may start earlier to provide coverage for critical AU and NZ data processing and operational support. \nModern Data Platform Delivery\nContribute to building and enhancing the modern data platform using Snowflake, dbt and Azure Data Factory (ADF). \nDevelop and maintain reliable, tested and well-documented data pipelines and data products. \nSupport the transition of data and workloads from existing platforms to the modern data platform.\nContribute to data quality, governance, security and engineering standards.\nHelp identify opportunities to simplify, consolidate and modernise existing data solutions.\nAbout you…\nStrong SQL and SQL Server experience, including supporting production data warehouse environments, troubleshooting, performance tuning and complex data transformations.\nHands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) for developing, maintaining, monitoring and troubleshooting data pipelines.\nWorking knowledge of Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure-based data solutions.\nExperience supporting business-critical data platforms, with a strong focus on operational reliability, incident resolution and production support.\nExperience with WhereScape RED or similar data warehouse automation tools is highly desirable. \nExperience with data quality, testing, security, governance and access-control practices. \nKnowledge of orchestration, source control and CI/CD practices for data solutions.\nExposure to Snowflake, dbt Cloud, Python and AWS services such as S3 is advantageous but not essential.\nQualifications\n5+ years of experience supporting and developing SQL Server-based data warehouse platforms, including operational/production support. \n3+ years of experience with ADF and Azure Synapse in a data engineering environment. \nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data & Analytics, or related discipline, or equivalent practical
