This position will play a key role in Hunt Electric’s overall logistics strategy. The Logistics Specialist will work collaboratively with our Design, Production, Logistics, and Warehouse teams to ensure customer needs and project deadlines are met. This role will assist in preparing, routing, scheduling, and tracking shipments from our manufacturing facility to the point of delivery (both locally and across the country.) This role reports to the Logistics Director.\n\nJob Description:\nRole & Responsibilities\nProcesses and completes incoming logistics requests from production or project management teams.\nProvides coordination, tracking, and planning for incoming and outbound freight with preferred vendors and third-party services.\nSchedules our internal team of Over the Road CDL drivers as well as third-party services as necessary.\nUpdates and schedules the delivery calendar for jobsite deliveries.\nCalls ahead to jobsite locations to verify delivery requirements, dates, point of contacts, etc.\nCommunicates, documents and tracks scheduled dates and changes with project team.\nCreates appropriate Bill of Lading.\nObtains necessary permits for internal drivers.\nWorks with purchasing and warehouse staff to stage material, load trucks for delivery, and ship the material.\nCancels tickets and coordinates with project team as requested.\nWorks in a safe manner and follows Hunt Electric safety program guidelines and policies.\nEnsures DOT, IFTA and other appropriate compliances are met.\nCoordinates third party couriers when necessary.\nMay act as a back-up for the warehouse and/or purchasing.\nQualifications and Education Requirements\nHigh School Diploma or Equivalent; College degree in Logistics or a related field preferred.\nPrevious experience with logistics or a related field.\nKnowledge and experience in working with all modes and methods of transportation.\nIntermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.\nKey Skills and Competencies\nDemonstrates a flexible and collaborative work style.\nDemonstrated success in working with immediate team members and other departments to build effective relationships.\nAbility to communicate clearly in verbal and written form.\nExcellent customer service skills.\nStrong problem-solving skills.\nAbility to adapt, multi-task and manage changing priorities.\nExcellent organizational skills.\nAbility to set and meet deadlines.\nNegotiation skills or experience.\nPhysical Requirements\nThis job operates in a warehouse environment and is exposed to weather conditions.\nMust wear personal protective equipment (PPE) per warehouse requirements, including but not limited to, hard toe work boots, safety glasses, gloves, and high visibility vest.\nThis role occasionally uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers, and fax machines.\nEmployees are frequently required to sit, stand, and occasionally required to bend, kneel, reach, stoop, or crouch.\nThis position may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.\n\nWhy Hunt Electric?\nHunt Electric is a 100% employee-owned company with over 60 years of stability, momentum, and exciting growth ahead-our future is bright!
