The firm supports clients with financial management, reporting, analysis, and commercial decision-making through a practical, hands-on approach to improve financial processes and provide actionable growth insights.\nRole Overview: We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations for a US-based branch while working Australian hours and collaborating closely with the Australian-based head office team. The successful candidate will play an important role in managing accounts payable, bank and credit card reconciliations, month-end closing, general ledger accounting, and tax compliance support.\nThis opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with strong technical knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently while working across international teams and time zones.\nKey Responsibilities:\nAccounts Payable and Vendor Management\nManage the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice review, coding, processing, and posting.\nPrepare and coordinate vendor payments through online banking platforms.\nReconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding balances or discrepancies.\nMonitor unpaid invoices and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely payments.\nBank and Credit Card Reconciliations\nPerform regular bank reconciliations and investigate unreconciled transactions.\nReview and record corporate credit card transactions, ensuring accurate general ledger classifications.\nIdentify and resolve discrepancies between bank records and accounting system balances.\nMonitor outstanding transactions and follow up on necessary adjustments.\nMonth-End Closing and General Accounting\nPrepare and post journal entries, including accruals, reversals, and reclassifications.\nReview balance sheet accounts and reconcile general ledger balances.\nAssist with month-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.\nMaintain supporting schedules and working papers for assigned accounts.\nCoordinate intercompany transactions and reconciliations.\nTax and Regulatory Compliance Support\nAssist external tax consultants by providing accounting records, reports, and supporting documentation as requested.\nCoordinate with internal stakeholders to address inquiries and information requests relating to US sales and use tax and other tax compliance matters.\nReview and reconcile relevant accounting data to support external tax consultants.\nFinancial Reporting and Budget Support\nAssist in preparing financial reports and supporting schedules.\nReview accounting records for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.\nSupport budgeting and financial analysis activities as required.\nProvide financial information and respond to management inquiries.\nProcess Improvement and Coordination\nIdentify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and internal controls.\nCoordinate with finance team members and other departments to resolve accounting issues.\nMaintain organized and accurate accounting documentation.\nHandle other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned.\nRequired Skills and Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.\nCPA qualification is preferred.\nAt least 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, with Australian or US accounting experience preferred.\nStrong experience in accounts payable, bank reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and month-end closing.\nExperience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or similar ERP systems is preferred.\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.\nExcellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial records and transactions.\nAbility to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.\nWillingness to work Australian business hours while supporting the US branch and coordinating closely with the Australian-based head office team.\nPreferred Skills and Experience\nExperience using US banking platforms for payment processing and reconciliation.\nExperience in intercompany accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.\nFamiliarity with supporting external tax consultants and responding to tax-related information requests.\nPrevious experience working in a multinational or outsourced accounting environment.\nAbility to manage time-sensitive accounting deliverables while maintaining accuracy and
