The business works closely with contractors and industry professionals, with a focus on practical innovation, product reliability and solutions that improve efficiency on site.\nRole Overview: We are looking for a genuinely top-level Bookkeeper with exceptional Xero skills and strong Shopify experience to manage day-to-day reconciliation work and maintain accurate financial records. This is a hands-on role for someone with outstanding attention to detail who can work independently and take ownership of their work.\nWe’re not looking for someone who simply processes transactions. The ideal candidate is commercially minded, understands what the numbers are telling them, can spot discrepancies or potential issues, and takes action rather than waiting to be told what to do. They should be confident questioning unusual transactions, investigating problems and finding practical solutions.\nKey Responsibilities:\nBookkeeping & Reconciliation\nManage day-to-day bookkeeping and bank reconciliations in Xero, including Shopify transactions, payouts and related financial records.\nManage the Shopify and Xero integration, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.\nHandle general ledger allocations, balance sheet reconciliations and month-end reporting, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.\nManage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including supplier invoices, customer payments and outstanding balances.\nMaintain accurate records across multiple business entities, where applicable.\nIdentify unusual transactions or potential issues, investigate them and take ownership of resolving them.\nAssist with GST and BAS-related tasks and ensure records are accurate and up to date.\nUse Excel for financial analysis, reconciliations and reporting as required.\nPayroll Support\nAssist with payroll processing for factory and office staff, including timesheets, leave, superannuation, PAYG and STP.\nMaintain accurate payroll records and assist with resolving payroll discrepancies.\nGeneral Finance Support\nAssist with regular bookkeeping, financial reporting and other day-to-day finance tasks.\nWork closely with the Office Manager on financial matters and accounting requirements.\nIdentify opportunities to improve bookkeeping processes, accuracy and efficiency.\nRequirements\nRequired Skills and Qualifications:\nAdvanced Xero expertise (non-negotiable)\nHands-on experience with Shopify and Xero integration\nIdeally 5+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience\nProven experience supporting Australian businesses or clients\nStrong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy\nExcellent problem-solving skills and initiative\nExperience managing multiple business entities\nStrong experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management\nExperience with Australian GST (Goods and Services Tax), BAS (Business Activity Statements), and payroll\nExperience with month-end reporting and balance sheet reconciliations\nAdvanced Excel skills\nStrong written and verbal English communication skills\nExcellent organisational and time-management skills\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision\nWhat We’re Looking For\nWe’re looking for someone with strong bookkeeping skills, a sharp eye for detail, and a high level of accuracy.
