The business is in a growth phase and looking to bring marketing activity in-house under one skilled operator.\nRole Overview: We are seeking a dynamic, commercially minded and hands-on Financial Controller based in the Philippines to take complete ownership of the finance and accounting function for an established Australian business. Moving beyond basic transaction processing and reporting this role calls for a proactive leader who proactively identifies risks, refines operational processes and delivers timely financial insight to drive strategy. Initially you will lead a critical systems migration from MYOB EXO to MYOB AccountRight Plus, ensuring seamless data integrity, robust internal controls and optimized reporting workflows.\nThis position offers exceptional career progression as the company executes an ambitious expansion across the Asia-Pacific region over the next 12 months followed by global growth. Ideal candidates will possess a strong accounting background with practical experience in Australian business practices preferably with MYOB software expertise and excel in a fast-paced SME environment. As the organization expands you will have the direct opportunity to build and lead a high-performing finance team and transition into a broader regional executive role such as Regional Financial Controller or Head of Finance.\nKey Responsibilities:\nFinancial Management & Reporting\nPrepare monthly management accounts, P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reports.\nManage reconciliations, general ledger, journals and month/year-end closing.\nMonitor financial performance against budgets and investigate variances.\nProvide meaningful financial insights and maintain accurate records.\nMYOB EXO to AccountRight Plus Migration\nReview existing systems, financial processes and charts of accounts.\nClean and migrate financial, customer and supplier data, including opening balances, GST, receivables and payables.\nTest and reconcile migrated data to ensure accuracy.\nEstablish controls, document procedures and train staff.\nImprove and streamline finance processes while minimizing business disruption.\nAccounts Receivable & Payable\nOversee invoicing, supplier bills, account reconciliations and payment scheduling.\nMonitor debtor ageing, overdue accounts, supplier obligations and cash collection.\nResolve discrepancies, ensure accurate expense coding and maintain approval controls.\nCash Flow, Budgeting & Forecasting\nMaintain rolling cash flow forecasts and monitor working capital.\nPrepare annual budgets, monthly forecasts and financial projections.\nAnalyse budget variances and identify potential cash flow risks.\nSupport financial planning for future regional and international expansion.\nAustralian Tax & Compliance\nSupport GST, BAS, PAYG, superannuation and payroll reconciliations.\nPrepare year-end financial information and coordinate with external accountants, auditors and advisors.\nOversee payroll and employee financial administration as required.\nFinancial Controls & Improvement\nImprove Financial Process workflows, reporting and internal controls.\nReduce manual data entry through automation and better systems.\nDevelop finance policies, procedures and approval processes.\nIdentify financial risks, improve record keeping and drive operational efficiency.\nCommercial Support\nAnalyse product and customer profitability, margins, pricing, freight, landed costs and supplier expenses.\nMonitor sales, inventory and cost performance.\nIdentify cost-saving opportunities and prepare financial models to support business decisions.\nGrowth, Leadership & Asia-Pacific Expansion\nSupport the business's planned Asia-Pacific expansion and future global growth.\nDevelop scalable financial reporting, controls and processes across multiple entities, countries and currencies.\nAssist with international budgeting, market-entry planning, consolidated reporting and foreign currency management.\nCoordinate with overseas accountants, tax advisors and professional service providers.\nIdentify finance systems and technology requirements as the business grows.\nBuilding & Leading the Finance Team\nHelp recruit, develop and manage a finance team covering bookkeeping, AP, AR, payroll, management accounting and financial analysis as the business expands.\nTransition from hands-on financial management to building effective systems, processes and team capabilities.\nThe ideal candidate must be able to manage the finance function hands-on today while building the systems, team and financial infrastructure needed to support tomorrow's growth.\nRequirements\nAn accounting or finance background is highly favourable, including a degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.\nCPA, CA or equivalent qualifications are advantageous;
