Looking for Philippines-based candidates
Job Role: Senior Mortgage Broker Support / Parabroker
Compensation range: $1800-$2500 AUD / Monthly
Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement
Work Schedule: Full-time, The volume of work genuinely requires someone across core AEST hours, Monday to Friday
Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be formally engaged as an Independent Contractor (ICA). We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote, so you’ll be able to work from home.
Who The Client Is:
Our client has been assisting Australians with their borrowing requirements for over 40 years. With access to a wide panel of both major bank and non-bank lenders, the team structures the right loan for the client's circumstances, both now, into the future and as those circumstances change.
Their experience spans residential, commercial and industrial finance, from a client's first home through to funding a multi-storey office build. They have worked through both boom and bust cycles, and they bring that depth to every loan proposal they put together.
They are focused on building long-term relationships with their clients and are currently scaling up their organisation to enable them to help more Australians get access to funding as quickly and as simply as possible.
Role Overview:
Our client is looking for an experienced parabroker to take full ownership of the application process, from documentation review through to lender submission and settlement.
This is a senior support role, not an entry point into the industry. The broker currently carries the operational load alongside client-facing work, and the purpose of this hire is to lift that load entirely so he can focus on writing new business and building the client pipeline. You will be expected to run the pipeline with minimal direction after an initial ramp-up period, which means prior parabroking experience is essential.
The role is primarily residential lending with occasional involvement in commercial files. This role does not provide credit advice or credit assistance to clients. All loan recommendations and final sign-off remain with the broker.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the active loan pipeline end to end, tracking the status and next action on every deal in progress
- Review client documentation for completeness and accuracy before anything reaches a lender, including that payslips, bank statements and other income evidence reconcile.
- Prepare and compile loan applications, including lender forms, supporting documentation and submission packs
- Liaise directly with lenders on submissions, queries, outstanding conditions and approvals
- Draft client communications and run follow-ups on outstanding documents and information
- Maintain accurate records in the client's CRM and aggregator platform
- Provide general administrative support that reduces the broker's operational workload
Requirements
Must-Haves:
- 2 years prior experience as a parabroker or in mortgage broker support, with hands-on ownership of the application process
- Working knowledge of Australian residential lending: serviceability, supporting documentation standards, lender policy and submission requirements
- Experience with an Australian aggregator or broking CRM platform
- High accuracy under volume, with a system for tracking multiple applications at different stages
- Strong written English, suitable for direct correspondence with lenders and clients
- Able to work independently and drive a pipeline forward without being prompted
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience supporting a single broker or small brokerage rather than a large processing team
- Exposure to complex or non-standard lending scenarios such as self-employed borrowers and alt-doc applications across both residential and commercial
- Interest in growing beyond the processing function into a broader operational or leadership role
Professional and Personal Growth:
The business is growing, and the role grows with it. Depending on where your strengths and ambitions sit, there is scope to move into team leadership, marketing, or wider operational ownership over time. You will have an opportunity to work across multiple disciplines in the business to give you a feel for the development pathway you would like to own. The organisation is fully supportive in investing in their talent to grow and develop their skills.
Benefits
This is a remote, full-time role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:
- Be available for meetings and collaboration during core AEST/AEDT business hours.
- Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work.
- Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”).
