What’s yours?\nPosition Overview\nWe are seeking an experienced Payroll Accountant to join our team on a full-time basis.\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for payroll accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting and workforce cost analysis.\nWorking closely with our Finance, Payroll and HR teams, the role will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial and workforce information while supporting effective financial planning, compliance and business decision-making.\nWhat you'll do\nOversee payroll accounting activities, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of payroll transactions.\nPrepare and review payroll journals, reconciliations, accruals, provisions and other accounting entries.\nReconcile payroll and employee-related liabilities against general ledger accounts.\nInvestigate and resolve discrepancies between payroll, HR and financial records.\nPrepare payroll-related financial reports and support month-end and year-end reporting requirements.\nEnsure accurate accounting and reporting of superannuation, PAYG withholding, payroll tax and other employment-related liabilities.\nAssist with workforce cost budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, including Zero-Based Budgeting (ZBB).\nAnalyse actual employee costs against budgets and forecasts, investigating material variances.\nPrepare workforce cost reports, financial analysis and models to support management decision-making.\nMaintain accurate payroll, employee and financial data across accounting, payroll and HR systems.\nDevelop and improve financial reporting processes, internal controls and reporting tools.\nSupport compliance with Australian accounting standards, payroll legislation and statutory reporting obligations.\nAssist with internal and external audits relating to payroll and financial records.\nCollaborate with Finance, Payroll, HR and other stakeholders to resolve accounting and reporting issues.\nWho you are\nEssential:\nRelevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.\nMinimum 3-5 years' experience in accounting, payroll accounting, financial reporting or a closely related discipline.\nStrong understanding of Australian payroll, accounting and statutory requirements.\nDemonstrated experience preparing financial reconciliations, journals, accruals and provisions.\nExperience supporting month-end and year-end financial reporting.\nExperience in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial reporting.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with large datasets.\nExperience using accounting, payroll and/or Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).\nStrong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to identify opportunities for process improvement and improved reporting efficiency.\nDesirable:\nExperience using DataPay/Preceda, Oracle HCM or similar payroll and financial systems.\nExperience working within a multi-site or multi-pay-cycle organisation.\nExperience developing workforce cost reports, dashboards or financial models.\nExperience supporting payroll or finance system implementations and process improvement initiatives.\nWhat's in it for you\nA company culture that prioritizes internal development and professional growth\nFull-time permanent opportunity within a growing organisation\nSalary: $90,000 - $100,000 per annum plus superannuation\nJoin a collaborative team within a global organisation.\nOnsite parking\nEnjoy paid birthday leave, monthly office celebrations and access to social club.\nIf you meet the above requirements and are interested in joining Hunter Douglas Australia, please submit your resume and cover letter outlining your relevant qualifications, skills and experience.\nPlease note, all offers presented to candidates are carefully crafted to ensure market competitiveness, equity, and reflect the individual candidate’s education, experience, skills and potential.\nBy submitting your application below, you are providing your prior consent to receive SMS messages to notify you of any updates to your application status and to engage in discussion throughout your application process.
