Huntington Bancshares is an American regional bank founded in Columbus, Ohio in 1866, and it is one of the larger banks in the American midwest. It runs consumer and business banking across a branch network spanning Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and neighbouring states, alongside commercial banking, vehicle and equipment finance, and a specialty lending business that operates nationally rather than only in its branch footprint. Headquartered in Columbus and listed on Nasdaq, it grew substantially through the acquisitions of FirstMerit and TCF Financial and is known for consumer features such as overdraft grace periods.
