This position will report to the Inventory & Cost Accounting Supervisor.\nJob Scope\nThe Accounting Analyst will provide temporary full-time support to the Inventory and Cost Accounting team, including coverage for maternity leave and support for ongoing accounting operations.\nThis role requires a professional with at least 2 years of accounting experience who can effectively support month-end close activities, account and inventory reconciliations, inventory and cost accounting activities, audit requirements, SAP reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nThe ideal candidate will have previous exposure to cost or inventory accounting, strong Excel capabilities, excellent analytical skills, and C1-level English communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders in an international Shared Services environment.\nIn summary, as the Accounting Analyst, you will:\nPerform inventory and account reconciliations, including reviewing supporting documentation, comparing balances, and researching and documenting reconciling items.\nSupport month-end and quarter-end close activities, including preparation of schedules, journal entries, and supporting documentation.\nPerform inventory analysis and aging reviews and assist with follow-up on unusual, slow-moving, or obsolete inventory items.\nPrepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.\nSupport SAP-related accounting activities, reporting processes, and data validation.\nAssist with accruals, inventory adjustments, and other accounting analyses.\nSupport cost and inventory accounting activities according to business requirements.\nParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives through report development, automation, and process documentation.\nProvide analytical support and assist with special projects assigned by the accounting team.\nMaintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation in accordance with internal control requirements.\nQualifications\nYou must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus in identifying top candidates.\nThe candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in Costa Rica.\nAll candidates are expected to work at our office in AFZ, Heredia, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Please note that additional office days may occasionally be required based on specific business needs.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or advanced university studies in Accounting.\nMinimum of 2 years of professional accounting experience.\nPractical knowledge of core accounting principles and processes, including:Debits and credits\nJournal entries and postings\nAccount reconciliations\nAccruals and prepayments\nMonth-end close activities\nFinancial statement fundamentals\nGeneral understanding of the accounting cycle\n\nStrong English communication skills, C1 level or equivalent, with the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in a professional business environment.\nStrong Excel proficiency, including:Advanced formulas and functions\nPivotTables\nXLOOKUP/VLOOKUP\nData analysis and reporting\nSpreadsheet troubleshooting and management\n\nAbility to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment and manage multiple priorities.\nStrong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.\nSkills and Knowledge\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to independently prepare and review accounting reconciliations and supporting documentation.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nStrong organizational and time-management team environment.\nComfortable working in a fast-paced, multinational Shared Services environment.\nPreferred Qualifications\nPrevious experience in cost accounting and/or inventory accounting.\nExperience with SAP or another ERP system.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills.\nExperience with Power BI or other reporting and analytics tools.\nExperience supporting month-end and quarter-end closing processes.\nPrevious experience with audit support and accounting controls.\nExperience with data analysis, reporting, automation, or continuous improvement initiatives.\nPrevious experience within a Shared Services or multinational environment.\nWorking Environment\nOffice-based environment within Huntsman’s Shared Services organization in AFZ, Heredia, Costa Rica.\nHybrid work arrangement requiring on-site presence on designated days.\nExtensive use of computers, accounting systems, Excel, and reporting tools.\nAdditional support and flexibility may be required during
