This position will report to the Inventory & Cost Accounting Supervisor.\nJob Scope\nThe Accounting Intern will provide temporary support to the Inventory and Cost Accounting team, including coverage for maternity leave and assistance with day-to-day accounting activities. This role offers hands-on experience in month-end close processes, inventory accounting, reconciliations, audit support, SAP reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position is ideal for a motivated accounting student or recent graduate seeking practical experience in a fast-paced shared services environment.\nIn summary, as the Accounting Intern, you will:\nAssist with inventory and account reconciliations by gathering supporting documentation, comparing balances, and documenting reconciling items.\nSupport month-end and quarter-end close activities, including preparation of schedules and journal entry support.\nAssist with inventory analysis, inventory aging reviews, and follow-up on unusual or obsolete inventory items.\nPrepare and organize audit schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.\nSupport SAP-related activities, reporting processes, and data validation efforts.\nAssist with accruals, inventory adjustments, and other accounting analyses under supervision.\nParticipate in process improvement initiatives through report development, automation, and documentation of procedures.\nProvide analytical support and assist with special projects assigned by the accounting team.\nMaintain accurate documentation and support internal control requirements.\nQualifications\nYou must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.\nThe candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in Costa Rica.\nAll candidates are expected to work at our office in AFZ, Heredia on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
